Conferences are next week!
Conferences will be held on February 1 from 4-7:00 pm. At our student-family conferences, you will hear about the progress your student made last grading period, what supports are needed, and we will answer any questions you have about your student.
We hold these with your student's HOMES teacher. They can be in person, on Zoom, or over the phone. The HOMES teacher will be connecting with you to sign up for a time.
Inver Hills Community College
Inver Hills Community College is a partner with FAHS to give our students the opportunity to take the Accuplacer Placement Test during their senior year. ACCUPLACER is a series of tests that evaluate students’ skills in reading, writing, and math to help college administrators place them in courses that match their skills. Most Minnesota Community Colleges require this assessment before enrolling in classes.
Inver Hills will be coming to FAHS on February 5th to talk to all FAHS students during their HOMES class. This term we have started working on test preparation with students during HOMES as well. If you would like more information about the Accuplacer, you can find it here.
from Ms. Ronnei's classroom
Students are observing stomata cells in leaves as an example of how organisms are able to maintain homeostasis.
Students are simulating car airbags as they experiment to find how much baking soda and vinegar are necessary to react to completely fill a bag with air.
From Ms. Tucci's Classroom
This visual was added to the FAHS hallway so that our students can learn more about the candidates running for President this year. Ms. Tucci is currently teaching a Civics class but wanted to make sure that all students were informed of their choices when it comes to November.
Here are some the conversations that were popping up on Wednesday...
- "I had no idea there were so many candidates. Why do we only get to choose between two?"
- "What is a primary? How is different from the main election?"
- "When is MN's primary? I'm 18, I could vote in that!"
