Happy New Year!

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and was able to spend quality time with loved ones, family, and friends!


I also want to thank you all for your kindness and generosity shown to me and the teachers this holiday season. You made our holiday extra special!


We are welcoming a new teacher to our community this month. Trang Ngyuen is our Interim Kindergarten Teacher. She is leading the Kindergarten class while Ms. Sarah is on maternity leave. She comes to us with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Arizona State Univerity and prior experince teaching Kindergarten and First Grade in charter schools. I am very excited to have Ms. Trang join our teaching teams!


I am looking forward to a fantastic second half of the school year! We have many exciting events in the works including our 100th day of school in January, Week of the Young Child in April and Spring Fundraiser in May. There will be many volunteer opportunities available. Be on the look out over then next few weeks for volunteer details from me and from our Board Members.

MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. Parent Teacher Conferences Starting This Month

Teachers will begin conferences in late January and early February. Be sure to look for a sign up sheet posted by your child's teacher.

Keeping Healthy and Safe in the New Year

As we start our exciting journey into 2024, we want to partner with you to prioritize the health and well-being of our little ones. Encourage healthy habits at home by emphasizing the importance of nutritious meals, plenty of sleep, and regular physical activity. Remind your child to wash their hands regularly to keep those pesky germs at bay. Additionally, please keep us informed about any health-related concerns or changes so we can support your family appropriately. Remember, if you, your child, or anyone your household shows symptoms of illness, please stay home. Let's work together to create a happy and healthy environment for all in our community to thrive in the coming year!

100th Day of School!

In honor of hour 100th day of school, we will celebrate with T-Shirt Tuesday! Be sure to wear your Climbing Tree Community School T-Shirt and show off your school pride!

Kindergarten Virtual Open House Meeting

In February, we will host a virtual informational session beginning at 6:30 p.m. A representative from IBE will also present about scholarship and financial aid information. A Zoom link will be sent to all perspective kindergarten families prior to the meeting.

Monday February 12th: New School Year Registration Begins

Registration for Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten begins Monday February 12th for returning students and their siblings. Spaces are limited and registration is on a first come first served basis. Be sure to submit your paperwork and payment by Friday, February 16th. Open registration for new families begins February 19.

2023 Tax Information

For tax and personal records, please see your online Procare account; charges and payments are listed. If you need an End of Year Summary, contact the office. Please request a summary in advance of your tax appointment as there is a couple of days turn around on producing statements. Last minute request cannot always be accommodated. Our Tax ID# is 86-2947993.

Quality First Updates at Climbing Tree

We are going for our FIFTH STAR!

Climbing Tree Community School participates in Arizona's Qualtiy First Progam. Funded by First Things First, the Quality First program helps improve the quality of child care and preschool for children and families in Arizona. Climbing Tree is a Four-Star Quality First Program. Because of our high-quality rating, Quality First provides scholarships to our school to support our families' tuition cost, and support to our teachers through various coaching opportunities.


This spring, Climbing Tree will undergo Quality First Assessments to ensure we maintain the highest standards of early childhood education. During our intial assessment in 2021, we received 4 out of 5 stars. This spring, our goal is to obtain our fifth star! These assessments are a valuable opportunity for us to showcase the dedication and passion that our teachers bring to the classroom every day. Quality First Assessments focus on various aspects of our program, including teaching practices, learning environments, and family engagement. During the next few months, we will have support from three Qualty First Coaches to ensure we are meeting highest standards. You may see them working with our teachers in the classrooms and with April in the office.


Rest assured, this process helps us continuously improve and provide an exceptional experience for your child. We appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to sharing the positive outcomes of this assessment with our wonderful school community.

Institute for Better Education (IBE)

Climbing Tree is partnered with IBE to accept tax credit donations to be used for Kindergarten scholarships. If you pay AZ state income tax, you can contribute to IBE and claim a dollar for dollar tax credit for your entire contribution. Funds raised go toward scholarships for Climbing Tree Kindergarten families, making our private kindergarten an affordable choice to public school. Climbing Tree Annual Spring FUN!Raiser

If you own a business or know someone that does, consider donating to our annual spring fundraiser which is scheduled for Friday May 3, 2024 . This raffle event is the major fundraising effort for our school and generates much-needed funds for our scholarship program as well as provides funds for improvements to the school.

For our raffle, we are seeking donations of items such as a gift certificate, hotel night, family passes, or any item you think would be of interest to children, parents or families. Any donation of any size would be greatly appreciated. As a donor, you will receive publicity prior to and during the event, which will be viewed by every participant. Please contact the school office for more information.
