REMINDER: District Strategy Planning
Thank you to those who contributed to the district strategy planning session on Monday.
Here are the notes from the session. I beg you to consider providing input, either via attending the meeting, emailing me, or meeting with me at some point for this important work!
This strategy plan will be our "north star" in how we prioritize our work, clear our plate of the non-essentials as much as possible, and build a shared sense of ownership/purpose.
Three themes emerged from my entry plan findings, and those will be the starting point for this planning. Those themes were:
-defining a strong, solid and unwavering purpose around teaching and learning
-developing a personalized, supportive, and safe learning environment for all students
-connecting the district with the community to form a strong partnership
ANY input provided would be so helpful. It can be as simple as sharing what action steps you want to see that support these themes, sharing what has worked or not worked in the past, or even just processing how you see yourself reflected in these priorities.
The last day of the strategy session is Monday June 13 from 3-5pm on zoom. Feel free to stay for the whole time or just drop in to listen/chat for a few minutes.
In addition to these zoom meetings in June, I will also share when I plan to work on the strategy plan over the summer and will have open office hours and invite you to table top discussions on this work. I hope that you will consider joining me for this important work!

Quick Survey from HCHC
Hello staff,
My name is David Bjorklund, and I am the Behavioral Health Lead Clinician at the Hilltown Community Health Center’s School-Based Health Center. Over the summer I will be developing a training opportunity for GRSD staff around topics of sexual orientation and gender inclusivity. My hope is to make this as meaningful and effective as possible. To this end I have created a short, anonymous survey to get an understanding of what you as a staff may want and need regarding this topic. I have already seen such love and compassion for all students in my two years of working at this school and this is an opportunity for us all to learn and grow, this includes me.
Speaking of me, as a straight, cisgender male who is not a teacher I understand that while I have an educational background in Sexual and Gender Minorities, work with a diverse clientele and have specific training in the development of training programs, I do not have the lived experience of being a teacher or an individual who identifies as a sexual or gender minority. I invite each of you to email me directly or stop by in the next few days if you have questions or comments on how I can make this a meaningful and effective training for you, or if you would like to be a part of the development of the training. My contact information can be found below.
I thank you for taking the time to complete the survey.
