Happy Sunday!

We hope that each and every one of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends! At CGS, we are THANKFUL for all of you and the continuous support you show our school community. Although, we lost our reigning "Readers Choice for BEST charter school in Alamance County" award provided by The Burlington Times-News and voted on by our CGS community (CGS previously held the title for 7 years in a row), we know that our CGS families, students, and staff are BETTER than BEST and we are grateful for the blessings CGS has provided our school community for the past 21 years. We are thankful for our past, our present, and what the future holds for our school population.

There are 3 short weeks left until Semester 1 ends and we are halfway complete with our 22-23 school year! December is a month full of fun and excitement but also full of midterms and finals for our students so please continue to stay focused.

Thank you to all of you that came out to support our Homecoming Event on Friday, 11/18! Congrats to all of our princes, princesses, and Homecoming King and Queen on their wins! It was also a fantastic night of seeing all of our CGS families and former CGS students (Alumni). Great job and shout out to our Athletics Department and Coach Paschal for a successful night! Shout out to our staff and parents who also helped organize and run the event! We couldn't have done it without you! Congrats again to all of our winners! The CGS Dance Department is sponsoring the Texas Roadhouse gift card fundraiser again this year! Your student should have brought home a packet last Friday and packets will be due back to Mrs. Ballard on Monday, November 28th. This means you will have time to sell to family and friends over the Thanksgiving break. These gift cards make great Christmas gifts!!

Texas Roadhouse offers prizes and incentives for the various ages of student sellers, which you can read about on your packet, but the CGS Dance Department is also offering our own set of prizes and incentives, so please read about them below.

• During the Thanksgiving break we had beautiful weather and were able to pour concrete on the entire 2nd floor on 11/22 (Tuesday) and 11/23 (Wednesday) just in time to enjoy the turkey and pumpkin pie! The contractor started pouring concrete around 6am on both mornings.
