Hello DMHS Families,

On Thursday February 29 we are holding our Parent Teacher Conferences from 5pm to 7pm. Parent Teacher Conference is a perfect opportunity to learn about your child’s academic progress and also to let teachers know about your child's learning styles, strengths and needs.
Lastly, we are having a Beautification Day on Saturday March 2nd from 10 AM - 2PM. I hope you can join us with your family. If you would like to participate in our Beautification Day please fill our our Interest form:

- Saturday, February 3, 2024. 9:00am – 1:00pm Senior Picture Make-Ups in the Dance Room
- Winter Semi Formal Friday, February 16,2024 6:00 - 9:00 PM in the MPR. Tickets are sold during lunch time in the DMHS Quad.
- Monday, February 19, 2024 there will be no school in observance of President's Day. We resume classes on Tuesday, February 20, 2024
Parent Teacher Conference will be held on Thursday February 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM
- Friday, March 1, 2024 will be a minimum day. Students will be dismissed at 12:58 PM

Message for Ms. Mendoza, Psychiatric Social Worker
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Hello, my name is Aime Mendoza. I am the new Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW) at Downtown Magnets High School. I am available Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
The services that will be available include individual, group, crisis intervention, community referrals and parent support. I may also be providing some classroom presentations on topics that promote wellness and resilience, positive social skills and conflict resolution. The purpose of these services is to help our students achieve greater success in their educational, social and emotional growth.

Tutoring Schedule
Hello senior parents and families! Now that your student has completed the college application prccess it is time to Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We will be having FAFSA workshops after school. See attached flyer.
Understanding Financial Aid Parent Workshop on Thursday February 8th at 9:00 AM in the Library. This workshop is for families of all grade levels.

Dear DMHS Parents,
Do you need help navigating your student's schoology? Contact Ms. Pena at Google Voice number (323) 332-9611 to schedule an appointment so she can help you navigate schoology. My office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
Does your student need a chrome book or hotspot? Visit at: https://device.lausd.net/ You will use the username and password you use to log in to the parent portal.
Having access to the Parent Portal has become easier. Now you can download the mobile app in the google play store or apple stores. Just look for LAUSD Mobile App 3.0 or scan the QR code below. Once you have downloaded the app just log in with your username (email) and the password and you are ready to access Schoology, Grades, assignments amount other features.
