The Buzz got a makeover! Welcome to the new communication platform for our school community. Brand new look, same great information on all things important at Bateman. We look forward to an incredible October!

Supporting New Family & Community Members

We will be welcoming over 20 newcomer families next week. We welcome our entire Bateman community to show lots of love and support and want them to feel that Bateman is their home. We will be gathering donations on Sunday, October 1st from 9am - 11am or during school hours on Monday. Please enter through the Auditorium Doors on Sacramento. Here is how you can help:

Walk-A-Thon

WOW! We have nearly doubled our initial goal in fundraising for the 2023-2024 Walk-A-Thon! We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our community to make today's Walk-A-Thon a huge success! If you would like to contribute, there is still time to register your child(ren) in Pledgestar! Donations are accepted through October 6th and all funds go towards our PE and Sports Programs. We can't wait to share all of the videos and pictures from the event!

Safety Drill Week

The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. Next week, we will be conducting a series of mandatory Safety Drills. Further communication will be forthcoming. Please see below for the dates of each drill:

School Wide Volunteers

We love our volunteers! If you would like to become a volunteer this year, please complete the Bateman Volunteer Form. All roles, responsibilities, and agreements will be emailed digitally once you have completed this form. The email will include all information for who to go to and next steps! Only those who have completed the emailed steps and have been cleared by CPS will be able to volunteer at the school. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Rivera in the North Office!

Please join us for the monthly LSC Meeting. All are welcome to attend meetings to learn more about the Bateman experience, share ideas and feedback, and celebrate news with the community. Join us for a Chicago Fire FC soccer match on October 7th to help support the Fire and Bateman PE and Athletics! We will receive $5 for each ticket sold, with the proceeds benefitting our Physical Education and Athletics Department. The match on October 7th is also Fan Appreciation Night!

October 10th - October 25th

As you are cleaning out your kids' coats, hats, gloves, scarves, snow pants, boots and other cold weather gear to prepare for winter, PLEASE save it and donate it to the Bateman Winter Gear Drive. We are taking donations of new or gently used winter items for kids Pre-K to 8th Grade. DROP OFF new or gently used items in the North Office Foyer/Door #1 from Tuesday, October 10 to Wednesday, October 25.

The Bateman Community is invited to SHOP for FREE for items your family needs on dates TBD in early November!

Ms. Sandra Rivera will walk families through the GoCPS high school application process. All Middle School families are invited (6th, 7th, & 8th grade)! Important Updates for the High School Application Process

All 8th Grade families should have received an email and paper copy of the email regarding the High School Admittance Test. If you did not receive it, please contact Counselor Rivera. Please see below for how Bateman is supporting all families throughout this process!

All 7th and 8th Graders and their families are invited to attend! The fair provides a valuable opportunity for students and parents to explore high school options in CPS, as well as, private schools. Students and parents will be able to meet with high school representatives to ask questions and obtain information about the programs offered at their schools.
