βοΈ Attendance Reminder
This is a reminder that students are expected to attend school every day. Our first bell rings at 8:35 a.m. The school day starts promptly at 8:45 a.m. If your student is not sitting at their seat, ready for the day at that time, they will be marked tardy. If your student will not be at school, please contact the main office prior to 9:00 a.m. to properly excuse the absence.
All pre-arranged absences should be reported to the main office by phone call, (715) 345-5418, or email (spionek@pointschools.net or jwalsh@pointschools.net).
π€’ Illness Guidelines
The student should stay home if he/she has/had:

β’ Vomiting and/or diarrhea should remain at home for 24 hours after it has stopped;
β’ A persistent cough;
β’ Any rash with fever;

ποΈ Box Tops for Education!
π¨βπ¨βπ§βπ¦ Jefferson PTO!
On Monday, February 19, our wonderful teachers will meet with all of us parents from 11 am until 7 pm for conferences, and the PTO would like your help in supporting them on this long day. If you are able, we ask that you bring in either snacks or drinks which will be set out for the teachers to get quick pick-me-ups. Homemade treats are welcome but along with store-bought ones, we are aiming for health and sustainability over sweet desserts. Favorite drinks include flavored sparkling water, coffee, diet sodas and juices, etc.
Snacks and drinks can be dropped off at the main office beginning Thursday the 15th (Friday the 16th as well) but anything perishable should not be brought in until the 19th (as early as 8 am). If you can help please sign up here.
Our PTO is an organization made up of parents, teachers, and building leadership. We work together to support our school community through volunteerism, fundraising, and collaboration.
PTO Mission Statement:
- To promote effective educational programs at Jefferson Elementary School.
- To enhance the educational environment at Jefferson Elementary School through volunteer and financial resources.
- To promote communications between the school administration, staff, parents, and students.
- To provide additional materials, programs, and funds to Jefferson Elementary School and throughout its district that benefit Jefferson students.

π£Stevens Point Area Schools - Preparing for Our Future! As proud members of the Stevens Point Area Public School District, we've provided excellent education for our students and families. Our community's strength lies in our educational opportunities and dedicated staff. However, we face financial challenges that require collective action. On April 2, 2024, you will have the chance to make a significant impact. Residents will vote on an operational referendum to secure the future of our educational system. Our Needs: Outdated Funding Formula: Our revenue limit ranks low among Wisconsin districts, hindering our ability to provide the best for our students. Lack of State Funding: State funding has not kept pace with rising costs and inflation, affecting our programs and services. Increasing Needs: Special education and mental health expenses, mandated by the state and federal government, exceed our funding. Rising Costs: Costs beyond our control, such as transportation and heating, continue to rise. Proposed Solution: On April 2, 2024, an approved operational referendum, would allow us to exceed our revenue limit: 2024-25: Increase by $8.75 million. 2025-26: An additional $5.25 million ($14 million total). 2026-27 and beyond: Sustain $14 million per year. With this referendum, we can: Retain high-quality staff. Offer diverse academic programs. Provide vital behavior and mental health support. Re-establish a healthy fund balance. Fund a 10-year facility maintenance plan. Maintain 21st-century technology and infrastructure. Property Tax Investment: If approved, the estimated property tax impact is $0.13 per $1,000 of assessed property value in the first year. For a $100,000 home, this amounts to approximately $44 annually. In the second year, the impact would be an additional $0.13 per $1,000, or $47 per year for the same $100,000 home. Mark your calendars for April 2, and stay informed by attending our community forums on February 7 or March 13 at 6:00 pm at the SPASH Auditorium.
Thank you for considering!
