Dear West Wing Parents and Community,
We hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement for the upcoming school year. As we prepare to welcome back our amazing students, we wanted to take a moment to share our enthusiasm for the positive changes and growth that lie ahead.
This year, we are embarking on a journey of fostering a strong sense of community and achievement within our school. To achieve this, we have developed new school-wide expectations that will serve as the foundation for a supportive and encouraging learning environment. These expectations center around three core values: Respect, Compassion, and Integrity.
Respect: We believe that respect is the cornerstone of a harmonious learning community. We will encourage our students to honor each other's diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and ideas. By fostering mutual respect, we aim to create an atmosphere where everyone feels valued and appreciated.
Compassion: Our school strives to be a place of empathy and kindness, where students understand the importance of supporting one another. Teaching compassion will enable our students to build meaningful connections and extend a helping hand when needed.
Integrity: We firmly believe in instilling integrity in our students' character. Honesty, responsibility, and accountability will be emphasized to ensure that our students grow into trustworthy and principled individuals.
We welcome our parents and hope that this we can increase your involvement in our school community. Together, we can make this school year exceptional and full of accomplishments.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
Warmest regards,
Shelly Schubert
Principal

Office Updates
- Please remember that class lists are not finalized until Meet the Teacher Night on July 27. Class lists will be posted in each grade level hallway or outside teacher's classroom doors.
- Please remember to bring in all heavy school supplies on Meet the Teacher Night so that we do not have overloaded backpacks on the first day of school.
- Kindergarten parents only will be allowed on campus the first day of school to drop their students off to their classroom. 1st-8th grade parents may not proceed past the gates.
- Our office will be closed on Thursday, July 27 from 7:30-1:00.
PTSA and E&S Orthodontics will have ice treats in the MPR!
Campus and Student Safety Updates
- This year we are welcoming Peoria Police Department Officers! Our mayor, Jason Beck, and Peoria City Council has approved much needed school safety officers. We are very grateful for this added measure and look forward to meeting our officers as they begin to be on campus with our students and staff.
- Please remember to follow our arrival and dismissal procedures. Pictures are below for your review. We are all responsible for ensuring a safe and orderly arrival and dismissal for our students and staff.
- If you are visiting the campus please be sure to bring your drivers license. All visitors coming on campus will now use their drivers license to scan in and print a visitor badge. All visitors must also sign out when they leave campus and return their visitor badge to the office. No visitor will be allowed on campus without scanning in using their driver's license. Thank you!
- Shade Structures have been ordered but not yet installed. We had hoped that they would be in for the start of school, but unfortunately we are still waiting. Students that are parent pick-up will be dismissed from inside the MPR. Extra patience is needed as we start the school year and our students get into a routine and we all become more efficient at dismissal time.
