We hope you are enjoying the first really warm day of the season. It finally feels like spring! One of our favorite events is welcoming the new kindergarten class to River Mill. We had 40 members of the Class of 2031 participate in this event. If you know of any pre-school age children, turning five before the end of August, please let them know enrollment is open! Having accurate numbers ensures we have enough staff to make the learning environment successful for all kids.

May is mental health awareness month! In the last few years we have seen a dramatic increase in the need for student support and mental health experts. Being aware that you need help can often be the first step! Should you need school level resources, please see the flyer further down in this newsletter for our school counselors' and social worker's information.

In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days for are invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let. us know!

• May 1st: Regular School Day - C is to Celebrate Summer Birthdays!
• May 2nd: Regular School Day - D is for Desk Day - to be cleaned or maybe change seats
• May 3rd: Regular School Day - E is for Exercise - wear exercise clothes!
• May 4th: Regular School Day - E is for Funny - tell a funny joke!
• May 5th: REID Day, by invitation only

It is hard to believe that the 2022-23 school year is winding down. To continue our collective memory making opportunities we will participate in our annual ABC Countdown. Please help your child participate.

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will continue their state testing. We have shared with our students that this is a great opportunity to show off all they have learned and the skills that they have acquired. In order to help this process go as smoothly as possible, it is imperative that your child is here on time each day. Please also ensure your child's chromebook and charger have been returned to school. Thank you.

Technology Devices (ipads and chromebooks) need to be returned to school where they will now remain. Please also return the charger as they will need to be charged each day while the devices are at school for regular usage. Thank you.

Did you know we offer Pre-K for 4 year olds? We have a limited number of spots available in our program. If you are interested, please select the box below to fill out an intake form. All forms must be turned in by May 12th for consideration. If we have more interest than spots, some will not be accepted. Thank you for understanding.

Each month we choose to focus on one of our Standards of Excellence. Through this, we teach our students what it means to display these characteristics. Then we recognize members of our school community for exemplifying the trait. All of these help us to reach our school district's long term mission of equipping our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be resourceful and successful.

My School Bucks is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, and receive email notifications for low account balances.

Please note: currently, a convenience fee of $2.75 will be applied for each transaction.

All transactions are processed and applied to students' accounts nightly.
