Georgia Parent and Student Health Survey Open Until Friday, March 1, 2024
We would like to inform you that the window for the 2023-2024 Georgia Parent Survey is currently open and will remain so until Friday, March 1, 2024. Your participation in this survey is crucial as it contributes to the assessment of the 2024-2025 School Climate Score. Kindly take a moment to complete the survey by following the provided link below. It's important to note that schools with fewer than 15 parents participating in the Parent Survey may experience a negative impact on their School Climate Star Rating for the academic year 2024-2025.
Additionally, we would like to make you aware that our students are scheduled to participate in the Georgia Student Health Survey during the week of February 12, 2024. The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) allows students to opt out of the survey, and the Georgia Student Health Survey is available for your review below. If you wish to "opt-out" of survey participation for your student, kindly return the signed consent form to the school by Friday, February 9, 2024.
It is imperative to emphasize that each school must achieve a 75% participation rate on both the Georgia Student Health Survey and the Georgia School Personnel Survey. Failure to meet this participation rate threshold on these two surveys may result in a score of 0.00, significantly impacting the School Climate Star Rating of the respective school.
Your active involvement in these surveys is highly valued, and we appreciate your commitment to enhancing the overall school climate and student well-being.

RAMS READ!!!! Encourage your Student to Read Daily
In the fast-paced world of high school, where academic pressures and extracurriculars often take center stage, the simple act of reading at home can make a significant impact on a student's success.
Why is it crucial for high school students to embrace reading beyond the classroom? The benefits extend far beyond improved academic performance. Here are some compelling reasons to make reading a regular part of your routine:
Expanded Vocabulary and Comprehension: Reading diverse materials exposes you to a wide range of vocabulary and writing styles, enhancing your language skills. This expanded vocabulary contributes to better comprehension, which is crucial for success in various subjects.
Critical Thinking Skills: Engaging with different genres and perspectives sharpens critical thinking abilities. Analyzing characters, plot twists, and themes encourages students to think beyond the surface, fostering a deeper understanding of complex concepts.
Preparation for College and Beyond: College coursework demands strong reading and analytical skills. Establishing a habit of reading at home prepares you for the academic challenges that lie ahead, setting the stage for success in higher education and future careers.
Stress Reduction: Escaping into a good book provides a healthy way to de-stress. Amidst the hectic schedule of high school life, a few minutes of immersive reading can serve as a valuable mental break, promoting overall well-being.
Cultivation of Empathy: Reading fiction allows you to step into the shoes of diverse characters, experiencing their struggles and triumphs. This cultivates empathy, a crucial skill for understanding and connecting with people in all facets of life.
To make reading a regular part of your routine, consider the following tips:
Set Realistic Goals: Start with achievable reading goals, gradually increasing the difficulty and volume. This approach ensures that reading remains an enjoyable activity rather than a chore.
Create a Comfortable Reading Space: Designate a cozy corner at home dedicated to reading. A comfortable chair, good lighting, and a selection of books can transform this space into your personal reading haven.
Explore Different Genres: Don't limit yourself to a specific genre. Experiment with various styles, from fiction and non-fiction to poetry and biographies. A diverse reading diet broadens your horizons and keeps things interesting.
By incorporating reading into your daily routine, you're not just building academic skills – you're investing in your own personal and intellectual growth. So, grab a book, find a quiet spot, and embark on a journey of self-discovery through the pages of literature!
