NEMATYC NEWS
Winter 2023
We wish you a well-deserved semester break! May you experience peace, hope and joy, with renewed energy for the upcoming year.
A Message from the NEMATYC President
Almost fifty years ago, in a meeting held at Quinsigamond Community College on May 11, 1974, the Massachusetts Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (MMATYC) approved a new organizational structure. To acknowledge the fact that their active members spanned from across New England, the name of the organization was changed to the New England Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (NEMATYC). This spring, we will begin a celebration of this milestone anniversary. What better place to gather together for a conference and this momentous occasion than the place where it all began? I hope to see you in Worcester!
Warmly,
Philomena D'Alessandro
NEMATYC President
Professor of Mathematics, Quinsigamond Community College
