New Vision High School
Back-to-School 2022-2023
Welcome Back NHVS Families!!!!
Speaking of new staff members, please give a warm welcome to Steve Palmer and Katie Swant. As most of you know, Clinton moved to Montana...and we were able to hire TWO new math teachers! I am really excited for you all to meet them.
As we are getting back to "normal", our lunch has changed a bit. ONLY STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY for free and reduced lunch will be able to participate in the free and reduced lunch rates; however, any student can purchase food in the cafeteria. It is imperative that we get the free and reduced forms filled out as soon as possible. You can go to the pfsd.com webpage and click on Nutritional services and fill out the form online. If you received a letter saying that your children were automatically approved (directly certified) for free meals for the 2022-23 school year because someone in your household participates in SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR, then you do not need to submit an application.
Our closed campus policy has not changed. 9th and 10th grade students have CLOSED CAMPUS. Open campus is a privilege that can be taken away if school rules are not followed. This includes juniors and seniors who do not earn their credits each quarter and students who get suspended or go over their absences. Please also remember the district policy of NO OUTSIDE FOOD DELIVERIES TO SCHOOL BUILDINGS.
If you drive to school, please remember to park at the Boys and Girls Club. The club allows us to use their parking lot, but we treat it as "on campus" parking. Please take care of the trash in the parking lot and remember to DRIVE SAFELY anywhere around school zones.
As a reminder, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, vapes, e-cigs, etc are prohibited on school grounds no matter the age of the student. Please do not allow your student to bring them to school. Discipline procedures may include suspension and a citation from the police department. The Post Falls School District has been partnering with the Post Falls Police Department to increase safety and security. One of the new safety measures includes installing vape detectors in student restrooms to help provide a safe school environment for all students.
Our dress code has also not changed. When shopping for school clothes, be sure to purchase clothing that covers the belly and buttocks (including all undergarments) during normal activity. For a reminder of our entire school policy, please check out our 2022-23 Student handbook on the PFSD website.
The staff is ready to welcome back the students of New Vision. We hope that you are ready to work hard to earn your high school diploma.
PLEASE CALL THE SCHOOL IF YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS AND/OR PHONE NUMBERS!
