On Tuesday, February, 27, 2024, all 11th graders will be taking the ACT Exam. ONLY 11th graders will attend school on February 27th. All 9th, 10th & 12th graders will stay home on Tuesday, February 27th.

ACT Exam

When: Tuesday, February 27, 2024

Where: Coronado High School

Testing Room: Each 11th grader will be assigned a testing room. The ALPHA breakdown will be sent to you on Friday, 2/23.

What Time: Report to your testing room at 6:45 a.m.

End Time: The test will end about 12:05 p.m. Once the ACT is completed, students will be released.

(Lunch will be available to students after the test in the cafeteria. Lunch will be a grab and go.)

(Bus Riders can wait in the cafeteria until dismissal at 1:11 p.m.)

What do I need to bring to the ACT?

-Two Sharpened Number 2 pencils

-Water

-Snack if you would like

-NO Cell phones OR Smartwatches are allowed. (Phones/Smartwatches will need to be collected if you bring them.)

-Student ID (School, City, State or Government ID)

Coronado will be hosting the ASVAB on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024. The ASVAB can be used for ACT/SAT and free practice testlets, career exploration, or military entrance. This test is optional and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students need to arrive by 6:45 a.m. They will report to the cafeteria for testing. Students must bring their laptop or Chromebook fully charged, as this will be done electrically. If students do not have a school issued Chromebook one may be provided.

Test Date: Wednesday, February 7th, 2024

Location: Coronado Cafeteria

Time: 6:45 am- 9:45 am

Attendance will be excused following the event. Immediately following the completion of the assessment, score interpretation will be reviewed. Students will need to follow up with teachers to make up any missing assignments as they are still responsible for the work assigned the day of the test.

Clark County Government hires selected students and pays them $12.00 per hour for an eight-week period. Work will begin on June 10th and will be completed on July 31st.

The student intern will perform on-the-job training at their designated job sites, which may include architectural and engineering firms, construction companies, banking, financial institutions, and governmental agencies, for the first three days of each work week, where a supervisor will assign them meaningful projects.

Some companies may choose to extend students’ internships and/or offer bonuses after their internships end. Once a week, student interns will participate in a Financial Literacy and Life Skills training. Furthermore, if all internship requirements are met, student interns will be eligible to apply for SBI scholarship awards.

This is a wonderful opportunity to provide the youth of Clark County with an exceptional summer internship.

Hello Coronado Families!

The FINAL Exam schedule is being shared so our school community can plan ahead.

If your student does not take the final exam, they will receive a zero for the exam grade.

MAKE UP EXAMS:

Per District regulation, final exams cannot be given early.

Make up exams will be administered during class or before/after school during the three days of final exams. (5/16-5/20)

EXAM INFO:

o There will be NO retakes on semester exams.

o All semester exam grades are final.

o Semester Exams will be entered at the percentage toward meeting the standards.

o Semester Exams will be posted without adjusting to the minimum score of 50%.

o For example, if a student earns a 32% on the semester exam, the score is applied without adjusting to the minimum score of 50%.
