Eagan HS August Newsletter
Volume 2, Issue #1, 2021- 2022
Welcome EHS Wildcats
The first day of school for Eagan High School is Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Buses will transport freshmen, 9th grade students, to school as scheduled for a typical school day. School begins at 7:40 a.m. for freshmen, on September 1st, who will report to the Student Commons (cafeteria). We use this morning to welcome and support our freshmen!
Students in grades 10, 11 and 12 who are NEW to EHS will also be welcomed to EHS by our counselors and Student Ambassadors during the morning of September 1st.
All freshmen will begin the day with a large assembly, followed by students working together in small groups with student LINK Crew Leaders. Freshmen and LINK Crew members will enjoy fun and informative activities throughout the building including a tour and classroom visits.
If your freshman student is enrolled in 196Online, but taking 1 or 2 classes in person at Eagan HS, please do attend the parent/guardian evening and the 9th grade student should plan to be at EHS on Sept. 1 and 2 - just as they would throughout the school year for those two classes.
Sophomores, juniors and seniors grades 10, 11 and 12, will report to school at 11:00 a.m. the first day, Wednesday, Sept. 1st. Bus transportation will be provided for grades 10, 11 and 12 to arrive for the 11 a.m. start.
ALL students will follow a modified schedule for the remainder of the day that will allow everyone to eat lunch and meet all their teachers, following their daily schedule, in assigned classes. The day concludes at its usual time for this school year, 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, September, 2 will be a regular school day for all students from 7:40 - 2:30.

2020-21 Yearbook Distribution!
Campus Annual Emergency/Health Review
As we do every year, we will be resetting all Campus parent accounts. All parents/guardians will be required to go through the annual review process of verifying their emergency contact and health information as they access their Campus Portal account. They will be required to complete the annual review process before they can access the information in the portal.
- For Parents] Annual Review Directions – This document includes how parents can create/access their Campus Portal account as well as step-by-step instructions to complete the annual review process.
- The link for parents can also be found on the district’s website by selecting Community | Infinite Campus then scrolling down to the Family Access section and clicking on Infinite Campus to expand.
There has been a last-minute addition to the process as a requirement by MDE to collect information on access to technology and Internet services at home.
Student LINK Crew
The LINK Crew will sponsor several events throughout the school year including the Freshmen Tailgate Party on September 10th, Powder Puff Football, Dodgeball Tournament during Homecoming week, Ice Cream Social, an 'Amazing Race' and other events designed to promote successful outcomes for our freshmen. Please encourage your students to attend these events and become involved at EHS.
Freshmen Respect Retreat
Freshmen students will have the opportunity to spend one day of school with fellow freshmen on Tuesday, December 14th to participate in the Respect Retreat organized by Eagan High School and Youth Frontiers®, a nonprofit organization that partners with schools to create more positive school communities. “Through programs that help young people realize the importance of living a life of character, Youth Frontiers is transforming the day-to-day experience in schools across America so that our schools….can thrive.” You can pay the $25 fee, which includes bus transportation and lunch, using My Payments Plus. The retreat is a wonderful experience, which culminates with the ‘Wisdom Retreat’ during the last trimester of their senior year. More information will be sent in the August emails.
School Supplies: What Will I Need?
Earbuds/headphones and a stylus are also advised, as students are all using iPads. Calculators are needed for some Mathematics classes (see below). External battery backup is recommended for iPad use.
We require EHS Student Planners/Assignment books for all 9th graders, and recommend them for all grades. 9th graders will receive a free planner on September 2. Grades 10, 11 and 12 may purchase at the Attendance Office window.
If your student is taking a Phy Ed class, they will need a combination padlock for their locker.
The Counseling Office has a supply of school needed items - just stop in for assistance.
