FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
We are wrapping up a great professional day here at Father Doyle! Teachers received training on the new FACTS Student Information System which will be implemented at the start of next year. We also met in our grade level groups to discuss curriculum goals and begin reviewing supplies and textbooks for the 2021-2022 school year. We're excited for the many possibilities that the new school year will bring!
Please be sure to review the important information and announcements below:
Updated CDC Guidance for Vaccinated Individuals
As many of you are aware, the Centers for Disease Control released additional guidance on Thursday which permits fully vaccinated individuals, those who are at least two weeks removed from the final dose of a vaccine regimen, to participate in a wide range of activities without wearing a mask. You can view the official guidance here.
Please note that this new mask guidance applies "except where [masking is] required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance."
With this in mind, until additional guidance and regulations are provided from the Rhode Island Department of Health regarding school settings, all teachers and staff will continue to wear face masks within the school setting. We also ask adults responsible for pick-up and drop-off to continue wearing masks while on school property. Thank you!

2021-2022 Academic Calendar Released
After careful consultation and review, we have released the Academic Calendar for the 2021-2022 school year. As with so much during this pandemic, these dates are subject to change based upon updated guidance from the Department of Health.
Please note, we have made every effort to align our academic calendar with public school districts and the state-wide RIDE Calendar; however, we have not adopted the "virtual learning professional days" utilized by the public school districts.

Probable Cases & Testing Procedures
The Department of Health has released additional resources for families regarding how to proceed if your child has symptoms at home or becomes ill at school. You can find the RIDOH Resources for Families here. Please note, if your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 that indicate a probable case, please call 844-857-1814 from 7:30am-9:30pm seven days a week to schedule a test through the K-12 Testing Network. You should also notify the school as soon as possible.
If your child is experiencing symptoms and is being tested, two tests will be conducted at the K-12 testing site - a rapid test with results within 24 hours, and a PCR test with results within 48 hours. Please note, students are not permitted to return to school until both tests are negative and symptoms have resolved. In addition, families must complete the After Illness Return Attestation Form which can also be found on the homepage of our school website under "Important Links."
A reminder that our hybrid learning policies for students absent due to illness or quarantine can be found in our Hybrid Learning Guide for Students and Families as well as in a quick reference guide here.

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
