A YEAR OF FLEXIBILITY AND ACCOMMODATIONS CONTINUES
SPRING IS COMING......
As Spring gets closer please make sure your students are dressing for the weather, as we get into mid-March and April, some teachers will start to take their classes outside during the day. I know 40 degrees will feel like 70 degrees but our students should be wearing jackets to school. The classes that go outside give our students a chance to remove their masks, while social distancing, and get into a different atmosphere while learning. Many teachers went outside with our classes in the Fall and this will certainly occur again in the Spring. Dress appropriately in case your teachers would like to go outside for class.
UPCOMING DATES
Please Mark on Your Calendar!!

ACT Day - March 9th, Please see the schedule for your student below
March 9th is the day all juniors in Wisconsin must take the ACT exam. With the uniqueness of this school year we do not have the room to have all of our other grades in our school building. As a result, we have a different schedule for different grades, please look carefully at your students schedule for this day. We appreciate everyone's flexibility. We will continue to educate all of our students at a high level on this day.
Middle school students will have a virtual and synchronized day of learning, meaning students will need to join Google meetings from home on time to be in their classes. The schedule for that day will be hours 5, 6 & 8. We will bypass homeroom and Eagle Time on this day. Students with no internet should be able to upload any documents they will need when they are at school on Monday, March 8th and keep that tab open.
Students will be expected to be in their classes at the beginning of class and remain in class, with their cameras on and microphones muted. Here is the MS schedule for the day:
5th hour 8:15-9:45am
6th hour 9:50-11:20am
Lunch Time 11:20am-11:55am
8th hour 12:00pm-1:30pm
From 1:30-3:30pm students can meet with teachers one on one. Teachers will ask students to meet and students can also reach out to teachers to set up these meetings.
9th & 10th Grade Schedule
9th and 10th grade students will have a virtual and asynchronized day of learning, meaning students will simply need to go into Schoology and get their work done for their classes anytime during this day. Students with no internet should be able to upload any documents they will need when they are at school on Monday, March 8th and keep that tab open.
This day is a 5-8 school day. We will be reminding students at school on Monday, March 8th to upload any work from Schoology they might need if they have issues with internet.
11th Grade Schedule
March 9th is the day all juniors in Wisconsin must take the ACT exam. All juniors are required to take this exam IN PERSON IN SCHOOL on this date . Students should plan on arriving by 8:00am. Breakfast will be served from 7:45 to 8:15am in the commons. The schedule for the day will also include a break with snacks and water. Lunch will also be provided to all juniors on this day. We anticipate that most students will complete the test prior to 3:25pm. Students may leave when they are done or stay until the buses run at the usual time.
12th Grade Schedule
In keeping with tradition, seniors should not report to school on Tuesday, March 9th. All of our seniors will be given this day to fill out applications for scholarships and any other applications that need to be completed. We will also be reminding our students on Monday, March 8th.

2021 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellows
CONGRATULATIONS TO THREE OF OUR VERY OWN!!
It is a wonderful recognition for a teacher to be selected as a Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellow. Amazingly, Northland Pines Middle & High School has 3 teachers who have achieved this incredible recognition this school year!
Each teacher was recognized as a leader and agent for positive change, and having superior ability to inspire love of learning. While we have many deserving staff members in our building, only so many teachers can achieve this recognition each year.
Congratulations to Faith Schneider, Amy Justice and Jacob Husing! We are all very happy for you and this award is well deserved!
Not everyone can pull off a Musical in a Pandemic year........

8TH GRADE PLAY PERFORMANCE COMING SOON.......
THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!!
During the day, A Likely Story Bookshop may look like any other. But at night, it’s a place where the magic happens. That’s when the characters inside the books come alive! Join beloved characters such as Long John Silver, Queen of Hearts, Robin Hood, Doctor Dolittle, Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes, Tom Sawyer, and Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy as they help Margie, the scatterbrained owner, save her struggling store. But, they’re not allowed to leave the building or be seen by human eyes. So when crooks come looking for a hidden stolen necklace, the characters are torn. Should they warn Margie and risk disappearing forever? Or can they find a way to defeat the crooks without being seen?
