North Syracuse Central School District's weekly e-news
Issue #47 | January 7, 2022
Happy New Year! It certainly has been an eventful start to the new year as we work through COVID and the ever-changing regulations regarding the pandemic. Late yesterday, the Onondaga County Health Department released updated guidance for isolation and quarantine.
Realizing that the guidance was complex and that we would need to sort through it, we hunkered down and worked together to decipher the information with the goal serving more staff and families. Please know that we understand how frustrating and overwhelming it is to live in this state of constant change and worry. Our goal is always to provide the best and safest education environment for all. We are continuing to work with the Onondaga County Health Department throughout this time of change and we will use this newsletter to update you.
In partnership with Kinney Drugs, we are holding an additional vaccination clinic for 5 to 11 year-old students next week. Click here if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity. Thank you and stay well!
Sincerely,
Daniel D. Bowles, Superintendent of Schools

Nationwide Service Disruptions Impacting School Meals
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we are seeing nationwide disruptions to manufacturing, supply and distribution channels. You may have experienced this yourself when you’ve tried to order something online or buy something in the store and what you’re looking for isn’t available right now.
What does the shortage mean for school meals? In short, it means that we’re having trouble getting certain foods and supplies. Your student(s) may notice that we’re serving different items than we’ve served in the past or different items than were listed on the menu.
School districts across the country are experiencing these shortages and unfortunately, we cannot control the problem. We are doing our best every day to come up with solutions to these challenges.
