Bike/Walk to School Day is here!
On Thursday, October 12th, Aumsville Elementary will be participating in the National BIke/Walk to School Day. This event is a bike and walk parade through the streets of Aumsville with the Aumsville Police Department escorting in cars and on bikes. This is a community event and we are encouraging family members to come and ride with your child. Grades 3-5 students will ride bikes to the fire station or walk around the surrounding neighborhoods from 8:00-9:00. Grades 3-5 bikes will be stored in the shed. Grades 1-2 students will ride or walk around the neighborhood near the school from 9:00-10:00. Grades 1-2 bikes will be stored in the 3-5 gym. A fire truck from Aumsville Fire Station will be on campus to show support for the event. Make sure your student has turned in a permission slip in order to leave campus on their bike or walk parade. We look forward to seeing you there!
Click on attachment below to download the permission form to print and send in.
Thank you!
Hi Aumsville Families!
The PTC would like to give a huge shout-out to all of the students, teachers, staff, family members, and volunteers that participated in the Move-a-thon on Friday, September 29th. Each and everyone that participated made this move-a-thon a fun and successful event. The students did amazing and anyone could tell by watching that they all had a great time movin'!
We've tallied all of the laps and wrote them into the packets that your students will be bringing home this week. Please be sure to check backpacks and work with your kiddos to start on getting pledges.
Thank you all so much for your time and support!
Your PTC Team
Toys and Trading Cards Stay at Home
Please remember that students should not bring toys, trading cards (Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc) to school. We have a growing problem with toys being brought in backpacks that end up being lost, broken, or are creating a distraction in the classroom. Thank you in advance for your help with this.
Move-A-Thon FUN, Pledges, and PRIZES!
Move-a-thon Envelope Information
How do I collect pledges?
Students will be bringing home pledge envelopes that includes the number of laps they moved. Pledging is optional. However, if your student would like to participate, have your child ask parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors that you know if they would like to support their efforts for completed laps or a flat pledge to earn money for their school. DO NOT collect pledges from someone you do not know. It is not safe and is in no way encouraged by the school or the PTC.
Do I pay now?
Yes, please return all pledge envelopes to the school no later than Friday, October 20th, 2023 for processing.
Donations in lieu of pledges:
If someone would like to donate money, without pledging per lap, that money can be collected and deposited into the pledge envelope. Please make all checks payable to: Aumsville PTC .

Conferences October 16th and 17th
We are excited that our school conferences are just around the corner, scheduled for October 16 & 17 . These conferences are a vital part of our commitment to your child's education, and we encourage every family to participate.
Parent/Teacher conferences provide an invaluable opportunity for us to connect with you, the parents and guardians, who play an integral role in your child's academic journey. It is a time to discuss your child's progress, celebrate their achievements, and address any concerns or challenges they may be facing.
Our goal is to work together as a team to ensure that every child receives the support and guidance they need to succeed. Your insights into your child's strengths and areas for improvement are invaluable to us. By connecting with every family, we can tailor our educational approach to meet the unique needs of each student. We understand that your time is precious, and we appreciate your dedication to your child's education.
Please watch for further communication from your child's teacher, via Parent Square, regarding scheduling and details. We are committed to making this process as convenient and informative as possible.
Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. Together, we can empower our students to reach their full potential.

Volunteers
It truly takes an “all hands on deck” mentality to run a school effectively. If you are interested in volunteering in your student’s class, chaperoning a field trip, or helping out behind the scenes, please begin the background check process found here or on the Cascade School District website on the “parents and students” page.
The background check process takes two-four weeks, is completely free, and lasts for two years. We recommend completing this early in the school year so as to avoid delay.
You no longer need to provide proof of COVID vaccination in order to volunteer.

Compliment Corner
Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn life around. If you would like to publically compliment someone at Aumsville Elementary or a community partner at an Aumsville Elementary event, you may do so here.
The compliment will show up in the next Panther Periodical!
Stephanie Moll: Thank you for the hours of time you volunteer to make FUN activities happen for Aumsville Elementary!
