St. Joseph Catholic School News

Regardless of the individual gifts given to us by God, we know that the sacraments are the gifts that are given to all of us that assist us in becoming one in Christ, and nurture our relationship with God and each other as a Church. I would like to congratulate our 8th grade students on accepting the invitation of God to embrace the sacrament of Confirmation this past week.

It has been an amazing year as they participated in the discipleship groups, Revive nights, and having such an excellent theology teacher in Mr. Hornecker to help prepare them for the next step in their faith journey. I pray that each of them remains an active member of the Church and live in the light of Christ for all of their days.

As a reminder, there is no school for students on Friday, April 28th. Staff has professional development scheduled. We are also welcoming our PK parents for conferences and our incoming Kindergarten children for a special round up activity.

Due to the challenges we are having with street clothes as spirit wear choices by many students, we will changing the options for the remainder of the school year. Students must wear a true spirit wear shirt (St. Joe's Jaguar items) and their school uniform bottoms. We will no longer allow students to wear school colors via their street clothes. They must be in a school spirit wear shirt and uniform bottoms or they are choosing to wear their uniforms to school that day. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sadly, we were notified by Hill Murray that they are no longer offering the band program at the Catholic Schools. However, we are working with another high school to see about continuing the program here at St. Joe's. We will let parents know once we have things in place.

Thank you to Ms. Averyel Bachelani for teaching our students and helping them develop their musical talents. Please support the concert on May 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Great Room and help us thank Ms. Bachelani for working with our students.

St. Joe's Home & School will be hosting the Gerten's Plant Sale Pick-up AND a Spirit Wear Sale on Wednesday, May 10 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. in the Church Parking Lot and we're looking for volunteers to help us! If you're interested in volunteering, you can find the sign-up here. Many hands make light work on this busy day and we appreciate any time you can spare! We know that Grandparents are very special to our students. We are inviting all Grandparents to join us for a special Mass on Friday, May 19 and to view the art show following the Mass. We hope to see you there.
