Dear Vernon Families,

We hope this message finds you well after the three-week-long teacher strike. It's with great excitement that we welcome you and your children back to school. We appreciate your support, patience, and the strong sense of community that wraps around the Vernon staff, students, and families.

Getting back into the groove of school routines might take a moment, but we are confident that together, we can seamlessly pick up right where we left off. As we re-enter the classrooms, we are reminded of the unique identity of our school as an IB school. One of the ways we exemplify this distinction is through the IB Learner Profile.

The IB Learner Profile consists of ten words that serve as guiding principles for both students and educators, helping us become not only successful learners but also compassionate and responsible individuals in this world. Each month throughout the school year, we will focus on a different trait of the Learner Profile.

This December, our focus is on being Inquirers and Thinkers. We encourage our students to ask questions, seek answers, and think critically about the world around them. These skills are not only crucial for academic success but also for personal growth and contributing positively to our global community.

We are looking forward to a month filled with curiosity, exploration, and deep thinking. Thank you once again for your ongoing support and commitment to the education of your children. Let's make December a month of meaningful learning and growth!
