Update Synergy for the 2023-24 School Year
Beginning April 28, 2023, LOSD needs parents/guardians of all students enrolled for the 2023-24 school year to log into ParentVUE and review/update your student’s information through the Register/Verify tab. This benefits both families and schools by:
Ensuring that schools have accurate information to reach parents and other contacts in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Verification is important even if your address or contact information has not changed over the past year because the school may have incorrect information from a previous year. Did you know 86 LHS students have emergency contacts listed without phone numbers? it would be hard to reach them in an emergency. Please check and verify your students information.
Confirming parent email addresses for Google Classroom and other applications to participate in your student's learning.
Enabling distribution of key information in the district's K-12 Family Handbook.
If you have forgotten your ParentVUE password, go to the login page, click "I am a Parent," then click "Forgot Password." If you are unsure whether you have a ParentVUE account, contact your student's school. For assistance with the verification process, refer to the user guide on the LOSD website or contact your student's school.

Our seniors will come together one last time at Senior Sunset to celebrate and mark the
start of the next chapter of their lives. They will be traveling to an undisclosed location
for a fun Grad Night celebration!

Please make sure your senior has RSVPed by signing up on the link emailed to all Senior Families. The deadline for sign-up is May 20th! We will host one or two table days in the Senior Commons so students can sign up for the bus and sit next to friends!
*After graduation, the graduates will be bused from Rolling Hills directly to the Grad Party Venue! After the Grad Party Celebration, they will be bused back to LHS.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES! Stay tuned for details regarding the volunteer

Host an International Student this Summer
Summer Hosting Opportunity for Families
Host a high school or college student from Japan for 1-4 weeks this summer! Hosting an international student is a great way to learn about a new culture, establish global friendships, and introduce young people to the great wide world. It is an impactful experience centered around international collaboration, solidarity, and education. The students are coming to share cultures, practice English, and become part of an American household. Students will have weekday English classes and activities at Portland State University. We also work with international college students attending Lewis and Clark College, PCC Sylvania, or PSU for an academic term or longer. Students commute on public transit, bring their own spending money and are covered by comprehensive medical and accident insurance. Families receive orientation materials, 24/7 support, and a small hosting stipend. ACES is a PNW nonprofit that has been connecting families and students since 1995. Learn more at acescollegehomstay.org, apply online, or contact us at aces.org@exploretheworld.org or 971-387-6388.
U.S. Presidential Scholar Program - Congratulations Megan Tian (semifinalist)!
Lakeridge High School student, Megan Tian, was selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious U.S Presidential Scholar program. She is one of the 7 candidates from Oregon.
Way to Go Megan!!
Volunteering at LHS?
Thank you for your interest in volunteering. For the safety of children, volunteers are required to have an approved background check before spending time in our schools or supporting school activities.
Please allow up to three weeks to process your approval. Accommodations may take longer.
Volunteers need to submit only one application for volunteering in all LOSD schools. Applications need to be submitted annually to capture changes in background checks, policies, and/or vaccination requirements.
LOSD Nurse Reminders
Asthma/Allergy Medications at School
It is critical to the health and safety of your student to bring ALL doctor recommended medications to school. Over the summer, speak with your doctor to get the proper supplies for school and then go to the LOSD web page to find the proper forms to be completed with the medications. If your student is in Elementary or Secondary and will store their meds at school, watch for a medication drop off time for your particular school. If they are in secondary and keeping their medication in their possession, please submit the proper paperwork so we are aware of where to find their medication in case of an emergency.
Individualized Health Plan? - Watch for an Email
If your child has a LOSD Individualized Health Plan (IHP) developed in consultation with your District Nurse, please watch for an email! Your response is needed to confirm or update your student's plan. We appreciate your prompt response.
Immunizations
Please review the OHA requirements and information on required immunizations for students. Please make arrangements to complete immunizations and update Synergy over the summer to avoid exclusion in 2024.
