☀️Summer Updates - July 2023
Hello, Buccaneers!
I hope this note finds you enjoying summer! We would like to welcome you in your educational journey whether you are a parent, guardian, staff member, student, or interested community member.
We are busy preparing for the opening of the 2023-2024 academic year and have a few highlights to share:
- Families can anticipate information to assist with the return to school in mailboxes by mid-August. Please contact your child's school if you have any address changes.
- Capital project update: We are excited to share with our approved tax rate proposal, the district will fully fund the bond sale associated with the Milford Middle School Project with no additional investment from our community, demonstrating the district's unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility.
- Athletics: Autumn sports will be starting soon. Participants will require a health physical. Please check out our sports page for additional information or contact Athletic Director, Jed Bell, at jbell@msd.k12.de.us.
As we come together and embark on the upcoming year, we will be guided on our journey using the four quadrants of our strategic compass that include:
- Academic Excellence: Equitable access to academic excellence and high-quality instruction
- Building Our Future: Evaluation, planning, and future development of district facilities and systems of engagement
- Supporting the Whole Student: Supporting each student's social, emotional, and behavioral well being
- Empowering and Investing in Our People: Recognizing that the people who work in Milford are the driving force behind its success.
Thank you for being a valued member of our journey as we chart the course to excellence.
Bridget Amory, Ed.D.
Interim Superintendent
