ASA G. HILLIARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
I have never encountered any children in any group who are not geniuses. There is no mystery on how to teach them. The first thing you do is treat them like human beings and the second thing you do is love them. -Asa Hilliard
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
HI PANTHER FAMILIES ❤️
I hope that you all had an amazing fall break and are staying warm in this crisp fall weather! As the temperatures begin to change, please know that we are staying constant with our high expectations for learning in all of our spaces. We have completed our first quarter and are now in our second quarter of the school year. Please continue to work with your students at home and read everyday. All students should be receiving homework daily, so if you are not seeing this, please let me know. As always, if you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out. Take care!

Literacy Parent Units
As you know, parent involvement is vital to your child’s academic success, which is why I am so excited to introduce a new learning tool to help enhance what is being taught in the classroom. Over the course of the school year, we will be unveiling a series of parent units for you to complete so you are better able to help support early literacy development at home.
These self-paced experiences, called Parent Units, are no more than 20 minutes from start to finish to complete. In the units, an easy-to-replicate strategy is provided for you to use at home. Each Parent Unit will launch monthly one at a time and will focus on different topics. We are kicking off the series with Unit 1 focusing on Oral Language.
I encourage you to take the time to complete these fun learning units, which can be found at the bottom of our school’s website and on the district website https://www.fultonschools.org/parentunits. Plus, parents will have the opportunity to earn a certificate for completing each unit!
Thank you for sharing your student with us. We look forward to partnering with you to give them the best education Fulton County Schools has to offer.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Bullying Prevention Month is a nationwide call to action around educating communities to their roles in bullying prevention and to educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention. Everyone can share in the efforts to Stop Bullying and Stand Up for Kindness.
Fulton County and the Office of Student Supports are excited to recognize October as National Bullying Prevention Month and October 23rd-31st as Red Ribbon Week. We will kick off the month of October on Monday, October 2nd by encouraging all staff and students to WEAR ROYAL BLUE and #FCSBEKIND.
