Dear Community,

The Vikan Team would like to wish you and yours a very restful and fun Thanksgiving break. Here at Vikan, we are thankful for the opportunity to work with our amazing group of Knights. We are proud of the growth they are making every single day. Middle school years are by far the most challenging in the lives of these students, but to see them grow and become such wonderful humans is a true honor.

Don't forget to tell them that you love them and that they are beautiful and loved and cared for. They need to hear it from you.

Today our Knights were invited to celebrate learning by participating in the Fall Assembly. The Teachers vs. Students Volleyball Game is a long standing tradition at Vikan. Students and staff had lots of fun cheering for their teams. The Lady Knights fought hard to win but lost to the teacher by a point. Great work everyone!

Parents if you have received a phone call from the school health clinic that your child is not feeling well and needs to be picked up, please pick up your child in a timely manner. We do not have the space and capacity to keep your child in the health office for more than 30 minutes.

If you are unable to pick up your child please send someone you trust and inform the school who will be picking up them up. The person you designate to pick up your child must provide a valid ID.

Attention Vikan Parents/Guardians! We are in need of a Girls Basketball coach for the upcoming 2024 Winter Sports season starting in January! This is a paid position with practices and games Tuesday through Friday only and will run through the beginning of March. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Mogensen (Athletic Director) with more information at jmogensen@sd27j.net

As the weather changes and gets colder, we want to let you know that students will have an inside day if the temperature is below 20 degrees. Please make sure that your student is properly dressed for the weather and please remind them to bring a jacket/coat with them.

As a reminder students are not allowed to bring blankets to school.

Parents we would like to remind you about the ability to Report a Student Absence on the Vikan Website. You will need to create a Web Account to be able to use the link and report your student absence.
