A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
Dear CSSE Families,
Here we are at the beginning of Lent. I feel blessed that while Father Jim is recuperating from knee surgery, we had Father Tom Boyer here to help fill in at mass. Father Boyer was my pastor for many years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral, and he is one of my favorite homilists! His homilies this past weekend and at our Ash Wednesday school mass did not disappoint. My favorite takeaways: be compassionate for others - especially our modern-day “lepers” who are often excluded and marginalized. This ties so well to his message on Wednesday of S & S season - Stop and Start. We can stop negative or unfruitful behaviors and start something that will bless us and others. What will you stop and start this Lenten season?
New this year for enrollment - the parish verification form is no longer required for families who attend St. Eugene. We will cross-reference with our St. Eugene church office and contact you if further information is required to verify your participation in the life of the parish.
Our faculty will be in professional development at the Archdiocese this Monday, so please enjoy the long weekend! We look forward to seeing our students back at school on Tuesday!
Faith Forward,
Mrs. Goldsworthy
Did You Receive Your Gala Shirt?
Vote for Our School!
Our school has been nominated to receive free Tiny Saints charms of our patron for all students and custom t-shirts for all the staff. We’d love to have all families, parishioners, and friends of St. Eugene (over age 18) vote for us to help us win! The more votes we get, the better our chances of winning. Voting closes Thursday, February 22nd! Please type in our school name as “The Catholic School of St. Eugene - The Village OK.”
School Stations of the Cross
Parents and guardians are welcome to join us at school Stations of the Cross on the following dates at 8:15am:
February 23rd Led by Middle School
March 1st - Led by 3rd Grade (Live Stations of the Cross)
March 8th - Led by 5th Grade (SALT Day of Service)

Prospective Family Open House
If you have friends and family who are interested in a Catholic education, we will hold an open house for prospective families from 3:00-4:30 pm on Sunday, March 10th. While we have very limited seats for the coming 2024-25 school year, this is a good opportunity for families who are looking a little further ahead to come and take a look at our school.
SALT Permission Slips
Thank you for turning in your SALT shirts! Mrs. Silvernail will be sorting through them and preparing for distribution soon! If you had a shirt to trade, but did not turn it in this week, you will be billed the $5 new shirt replacement fee through FACTs.
The SALT team is sending home permission slips and driver forms in Friday folders this week. They are due back to the teacher by Friday, February 23rd.
Our Kids Have Heart!
The American Heart Association needs our help. Join us in learning about heart health and raising funds to protect all hearts – especially other kids'! Through fun activities we’ll discover ways to take care of our hearts and brains while practicing kindness, gratitude and learning ways to de-stress. Plus, we have the chance to earn PE equipment for our school!
Download the AHA Schools app or go to www.heart.org/schools and REGISTER YOUR STUDENT TODAY! #KidsHeartChallenge. Get your first donation today to start earning and collecting the heart hero characters! If you have questions, contact Coach K! Our St. Eugene KHC will run through March 8th.
