ELC Family Newsletter
November 2023
Greetings ELC Families,
We have officially completed our first quarter of the school year and are moving right along in quarter two. We want to thank you all for partnering with us in your child's education. We are so excited to share that we had 99% attendance at our fall conferences! Our Halloween parade and classroom parties were also well attended and we topped off an excellent October with an incredible turn out Saturday for our Trunk-or-Treat event.
If you have a child that is enrolled in our PK4 class, they are at the appropriate age to enter Kindergarten next school year. Please complete the 2024-25 Kindergarten Information Form below as this will help with district-wide planning for next school year. Please share this form with others residing in the Basehor-Linwood School District who have children that will be age 5 on or before August 31, 2024.
Thank you to each of you for sharing your child with us during the most important years of their development. We appreciate the continued support as we strive to offer the best early childhood experience for your child(ren).

Sincerely,

Book Drive - BLHS Innovation Academy Project
BLHS Student Remi Turner has been working on her project in the innovation academy to bring a little free library to the ELC students. Part of her project includes opportunities for BLHS students to come read to our students and also collecting books to share with classrooms and to fill our free library once it's complete. If you are interested in donating, please see the flyer below!
Updates from the Office
Absences
If your child will not be at school, please call or email your child's teacher AND our secretary Mrs. Kristen.
Transportation Change
If you need to make a transportation change for your child please do so by 10:30 for the AM classes and 2:30 for the PM classes.
Car Signs
If at any time you need a replacement for your car sign, please email kbernal@usd458.org
CAR LINE DROP OFF - IMPORTANT
During arrival, please be sure your child remains seated at all times and does not exit the vehicle until a staff member is outside the door. Please also refrain from allowing them to hang outside the windows of your vehicles while waiting during arrival. This can be a major safety hazard and we want to keep our students safe.
Health Updates
Mrs. Corey Quattlebaum, School Nurse
Health
If your child is feeling ill, please do not send him/her to school. Although we encourage attendance, we prefer to NOT share sickness. Please be sure to notify the office and your child’s teacher if your child will be absent for any reason.
