Bogota Middle School Update

Our first full week of school has concluded. I would like to thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
Please make sure that your child comes to school each day on time, in uniform, and with a fully charged Chromebook.
9/11 Assembly
We held a 9/11 assembly, led by Mrs. Del Rosso, on Monday in which students watched a video that honored the many heroes as well as those that lost their lives on that day.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off next week. We will be celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Student Mental Health Screenings
The Bogota Public School District will be participating in Student Universal Mental Health Screenings for all students this year. Please see the link below to read about the process. There is also an opt out link within the letter should you choose to not have your child screened.
Middle School Clubs
Students will have the opportunity to join clubs in the near future. Sports tryouts are also here. I will include information on tryouts and events in this update.

Our student council interest meeting, led by Mr. Pelletier, was this week. There were some great potential candidates for the 2023-2024 school year. More information to follow on student council.
Lunch Forms
If you have not already completed your child's lunch form, please do so in a timely manner. Information on lunch forms and the Bogota Schools Lunch Program can be found by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of this letter.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night for Bogota Middle School will be on September 27th, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. More information to follow.

PTO Update
Our Next PTO meeting will be held on Thursday, October 5th, at 7:00pm in the Bogota Middle School Cafeteria. Parents will enter through the front door. We hope to see everyone there!!!!
Nurse's Corner
A few important reminders:
1) If your child is going to be absent, please call the school and leave your child's name, grade, homeroom teacher, and reason for absence.
2) Your child MUST be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school.
3) SIX GRADE STUDENTS- As per New Jersey State Requirements, all 6th grade students must have the following vaccine:
- Meningococcal Vaccine- 1 does
- Tdap (given on or after 10th birthday)- 1 dose
4) Please encourage your child to eat before coming to school.
