Hello SVDP Community,

On Monday, our students were back to their Zoom classrooms. The teachers were happy to see them and hear their holiday stories. Next week, we will continue with distance learning for all.

Assuming that all the precautions taken as a community have been successful, we look forward to welcoming in-person learners back to campus beginning on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Want more calendar information? We are already working on the 2021-2022 calendar. We are hopeful that the year will begin with in person learning for all! Below are the perimeter dates for the next school year.

• Shorten COVID-19 quarantine to 10 days. SFDPH has updated its guidance on quarantine duration for close contacts of COVID-19 cases to align with recent changes by the CDC and the CDPH. Most people who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 may end their quarantine after day 10 if they do not develop symptoms during this time. SFDPH strongly recommends that close contacts without symptoms get tested on or after day 6 of quarantine. Because there is a small chance that close contacts may still be infected, they should continue to wear a face mask and stay at least 6 feet away from others until day 14.

• Mandatory Travel quarantine. SF issued a mandatory quarantine of 10 days on anyone traveling, moving, or returning to San Francisco from anywhere outside the Bay Area. Limited exceptions apply to people who are traveling for certain critical activities. The new order also strongly discourages any non-essential travel within the 10-county Bay Area region. The travel order became effective at 12:01 a.m. on December 18, 2020 and has been extended indefinitely.

Please remember that if any member of your household tests positive for coronavirus, you must report this result to administration@svdpsf.com. This is part of our Infection Mitigation Plan -Health & Safety Protocols and part of your pledge to be an active participant in campus activities at SVDP.

The faculty and staff have been preparing for our WCEA / WASC visits. The accreditation process happens every six years. We have been writing reports, collecting data, setting goals, and preparing for our visits. Our pre-visit will happen in February and our virtual team visit will take place in March. We ask that you keep us in your prayers as we approach these milestones.

Kindergarten is still in the lead, but has not secured 100% participation! Most likely contender to beat Kindergarten is 3rd grade. Remember, the first class to reach 100% will receive a COVID friendly celebration for their children.
