Message from Mrs. Morgan:
We are entering our second month of school, it's been a productive and positive month! Students have settled in to their daily routine. This year will be filled with many new and continued initiatives. We will continue our focus on: Fundations (Phonics program, K-3rd grade), Journeys and Ready Reading (Reading Program), AR (Accelerated Reader), STEM/STEAM, SEL program (Social/Emotional Learning) and more. As well as begin the task of teaching a new Math Curriculum program that align with the new Georgia Math Standards. In addition to the ongoing initiatives throughout our building, we plan to incorporate and focus on our school improvement goals: improvement in Reading and Math MAP growth scores and improving student attendance.
We had our 2nd Annual Attendance Pep-Rally on Monday! Loganville High School football players, cheerleaders, band members, and other fall sports greeted our superheroes as they arrived to school and then kicked off the pep rally! Improving student attendance is a school improvement goal. BE A HERO! The hero attendance program stands for HERE, EVERYDAY, READY and ON TIME. Help your child to be present at school every day. Be sure they have what they need for school and that they arrive on time! Please see Attendance Picture below.
On anther note, the SES Jagriculture Club is excited to welcome a new group of students this school year. Thank you to all the students who applied this year. Those who were randomly selected were sent a welcome letter, permission slip, and carpool tag. We kicked off the first club meeting earlier this week making worm farms that will be used this fall in our garden beds. We are looking forward to a fun, exciting year learning about agriculture.
