News From Mrs. Nelson
"Hi Red Pumpers! I am still missing each one of your smiling faces! I know being away from school, your friends, your teachers, and your normal routine can be hard. Sometimes we can have a lot of negative thoughts about how things are going when our routines are different or when unexpected things happen. Try using your growth mindset because things will get better and go back to normal eventually. This week, I want each of you to try and think of three positive things each day. You can create a positive thinking craft fortune teller or write down your positive thoughts in a journal. Attached are some positive thoughts you can say to yourself to get you started! Keep up the good work and take care of yourselves! -Mrs. Nelson"

How can I fight BOREDOM, LEARN & HAVE FUN???
Hi Everyone! I know you’re working hard at home and doing your best work! At first the idea of no school sounds SUPER FUN. But as the weeks drag out, we know you are missing friends, family and even school. Learning is important each day of the week but that doesn’t mean it needs to be BORING! Make sure you pace yourself. Do some work, then take a break and do something you enjoy. It is important to reward yourself and be kind to yourself. Harford County Parks and Rec has fun new learning opportunities. I hope you check them out on some of your break times. You may find yourself going on a reading spy adventure, learning to play disc golf, making kinetic sand or visiting exciting critters during lunch. Remember learning can be fun! Stay safe and I look forward to talking with you next week! Ms. Schmidt

News From Dr. MacKenzie
It has been five weeks since we have been at home instead of school. We know that many of you are missing your friends, teachers, routines, and all of the fun events at Red Pump and wondering when we will be together again? You may be experiencing what is sometimes referred to as “cabin fever”. This is an expression that means when we feel cooped up in the house. This can make us feel cranky, irritable and bored and is true for adults as well as children. The following article is about how we can help each other to cope during this challenging time with these feelings. I hope your families will find the tips in this article helpful. And try thinking that instead of being "stuck at home" you are " safe at home"! Remember to keep being kind to one another too!

- Governor Hogan would like us to wear facemasks when we go shopping for food or visit the pharmacy. Here are some links on why this is so important and how you can easily make a mask. Share your pictures!
