Mrs. Goodman's Message
Hello Miller Families,
What a week! Once again, we had a lot of fun celebrating an amazing school year with our final PBIS Assembly! We enjoyed having Slider and the Hot Dog Team from the Cleveland Guardians come to our school to enjoy an EPIC dance party and celebration! The hot dog derby was easily won by Onion since Ketchup ran into our basketball hoop, Mustard got lost and Onion stayed focused on the finish line. This truly was so much fun and I'm sure your child came home talking about the fun time had by all. Thank you to all the families that came out to this event and to our PTO for helping to sponsor all of our PBIS endeavors all year long. I'll add more photos of this event to my end-of-the-year video. Stay tuned!
We also rounded out the week with our Kids Heart Challenge Pie in the Face activity. As you recall, we raised over $10,000 for the American Heart Association and any child that raised over $50 had a chance to throw a PIE at Mrs. Barnes or Mrs. Goodman! There are a few pictures below and you will see they found a lot of success hitting us with messy pies. This was another fun time had by all as we wrapped up with a dance party on the playground and a popsicle.
As we roll into the last week of school, please make sure that you empty your child's backpack each day since we will be slowly sending home materials and supplies with your child. Please check out our important updates for the week:
Here are some important reminders for the week:
- Preschool: Tuesday & Thursday: We are excited to welcome you to school to say farewell for the summer and of course, send off your amazing preschoolers to kindergarten through our graduation ceremony. Preschool graduation will be on Tuesday, May 23rd at 5:30 PM (remember to drop off your graduate at 5:15 PM at door 3). Our Preschool Family Playground Party will be on Thursday, May 25th from 11:00-11:30 for our AM classes and 2:30-3:00 for our PM classes.
- Kindergarten: Tuesday: Our current kindergarten students will be visiting Craddock Elementary this Tuesday either in the morning or afternoon for about 1 hour. They will get a tour of the building, meet some of the first-grade teachers and have a little play time on the playground! They will be traveling with their teacher along with any necessary medication. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
- End of the Year Parties/Field Day Events: Wednesday: We will be having a fun-filled day with Preschool and Kindergarten on Wednesday with games, activities, and a tasty Kona Ice Treat from our PTO. Thank you to all the volunteers who will be helping out on this day.
- Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes, has sunscreen applied at home, and has a labeled water bottle for the day!
- Kindergarten will wear their class-colored t-shirts and preschool can wear Aurora gear!
- If you are a kindergarten parent volunteer, you can arrive at the playground at 9:00 AM if you are a helper in the morning and at 1:00 PM if you are in the afternoon.
- If you are a preschool parent volunteer, you can arrive at the playground at 10:30 AM if you are a helper in the morning and at 12:40 if you are a helper in the afternoon.
- Last Day of School: Thursday: On our last day of school we will sadly say goodbye to many children moving on to first grade! Our PTO will be providing a pizza lunch for our full-day kindergarten classes from LeeAngelos, Lays Potato Chips, Fruit Cup, Rice Crispy Treat, and Milk/Water. Half Day kindergarten will also enjoy the Lays Potato Chips and Rice Crispy Treat. Your child may have this free pizza lunch or pack their lunch on this final day. Also, our Preschool Family Playground Party will be on Thursday from 11:00-11:30 for our AM classes and 2:30-3:00 for our PM classes!

Kona Ice Treat on Wednesday
The shaved ice truck will be visiting Miller to provide a tasty treat to our preschool and kindergarten children on Wednesday, May 24th. We have included important allergen information for you to know about the ice flavor concentrates used on the icy treat. If your child requires an alternative option, please let your child's teacher know and we will make sure an allergy-safe option is provided. Additionally, if you do not want your child to have the flavored ice treat, please reach out to your child's teacher.

Hello Miller Families! Below are AEPTO updates.
1. School Tool Box - Prepackaged school supplies are available to purchase through School Tool Box (schooltoolbox.com). More information is on the attached flyer.
2. Last Day of School - Thursday, May 25th! The AEPTO is partnering with LeeAngelos to provide cheese pizza for all day kindergartners for the last day of school! There will be gluten free pizza provided as well.
3. Yearbooks were delivered early and were sent home this week to those who ordered. Thank you to our Yearbook Chairs, Jenna Smith and Sisily Strobridge, for working on the yearbook all year long!
