Safe, On-Task, Accountable, Respectful
Welcome Back
Dear Evergreen Families and Community,
Welcome back! We hope you had a restful and joyful Winter break filled with warmth and beautiful moments. As we embark on the journey of 2024 and the second half of the school year, it's time to reconnect, inspire, and make the upcoming months memorable.
Launching into 2024:
As we step into the new year, let's bring with us the enthusiasm and eagerness to make the second half of the school year extraordinary. The possibilities are endless, and together, we can create a positive and thriving learning environment for our students.
S.O.A.R. Model and Student Leadership:
It's the perfect time to reinforce the importance of our S.O.A.R. model—Safe, On-Task, Accountable, and Respectful. Additionally, let's celebrate and encourage student leadership. Empowering our students to take the lead fosters a sense of responsibility and helps shape the leaders of tomorrow. At Evergreen, we are dedicated to finding the greatness in everyone. We teach the Leader in Me Habits and encourage all families to understand them as well. To learn more about the 7 Habits, please click on this link.
As we dive into the second half of the school year, let's give it our best effort. Each student, family member, and community member plays a crucial role in the success of our Evergreen family. By working together (Synergizing), we can create a positive and supportive atmosphere where everyone can thrive.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to Evergreen. Here's to a fantastic second half of the school year!
Best,
Gabriel Cardenas, Ed.D., Principal

Leader in Me
Evergreen Action Teams are off and running!
Exciting news from our school's Leader in Me journey! Over the past month, our commitment to Leader in Me has been on full display, with remarkable progress in student leadership and action.
Our dedicated PBIS action team took charge, setting up morning greeters to spread positive vibes each day. They also successfully managed the PBIS store, providing our students with a tangible way to experience the benefits of positive behavior. Additionally, their leadership was evident during the Great Kindness Challenge, creating a week filled with heartwarming moments and spreading kindness throughout our school.
Hats off to our outstanding Assembly action team! They orchestrated their very first spirit assembly, turning it into an unforgettable event that rocked the house. Their creativity and enthusiasm left a lasting impression, showcasing the incredible talent within our student body.
The Office Assistance action team also hit the ground running, starting their rotations to assist the office with various tasks. Their dedication to learning and contributing to the school's daily operations is truly commendable.
These accomplishments are a testament to the incredible efforts of our students and the ongoing success of the Leader in Me program at Evergreen. We're proud of the leadership, creativity, and teamwork displayed by our students, and we can't wait to see how they continue to make a positive impact on our school community.
Keep shining, Evergreen!

Hats off to Kindness
Each Evergreen student and staff member recently contributed to a beautiful mural of acts of kindness.
Every student received a "hat" template, a canvas for their creativity. They adorned their hats with unique decorations and wrote an act of kindness that warmed their hearts. These hats, each a tiny masterpiece, now come together to form a vibrant and meaningful mural.
It's inspiring to witness our school community coming together to celebrate kindness. This mural not only adds color to our walls but also serves as a daily reminder of the positivity and warmth that permeate our Evergreen family.
Thank you to everyone who participated, bringing their creativity and kindness to this collective project. Let's continue spreading kindness and making Evergreen a place filled with compassion and joy.
Rooms 24 & 29 busy with a field trip and Ausome Eagles!
La Habra Children's Museum and Ausome Eagles
Room 24 & Room 29 visited the La Habra Children's Museum on Monday 1/22/2024. Students had fun learning about animals, cars, farms, water conservation, and more!
Ausome Eagles is a twice monthly club where students from Room 24 & Room 29 play and socialize with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Students participate in group activities and make friends!
2nd Grade Field Trip to the
Pomona Fairplex Farm
Our 2nd grade student leaders took a trip to the Pomona Fairplex Farm! This hands-on experience proved to be both engaging and educational, leaving lasting memories for all our students.
The trip was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore, learn, and connect with the world around them. The enthusiasm and joy brought back by our students, staff, and dedicated parent volunteers were truly infectious. It's heartening to see the Evergreen community come together for such enriching experiences.
Not only did our student leaders have a great time, but they also returned with a bag full of goodies, adding an extra layer of excitement to their adventure.
A special thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers for making this trip possible and enhancing the overall experience for our students. Your support is truly invaluable.
We encourage parents to ask their child about their day, as our student leaders are eager to share their wonderful experiences. Here's to more hands-on learning adventures and creating lasting memories at Evergreen!
