Wall of Heroes
To honor the men and women who have served, we are creating a Wall of Heroes! Please feel free to choose one template, add a photo or draw a picture, and then, send it in with your child to the Gayman Main Office. Your family member/friend will be honored on our Wall of Heroes!
These posters will be hanging in the main hallway of Gayman for the month of November.
Veteran Guest Speakers: Nov. 11th
To mark this special day, we are hosting "Veteran Class Speakers". Any veteran, or someone currently serving in the military, is invited to speak to a class. The time of the presentation will be determined by the teacher and speaker.
A 20-minute presentation would include:
- A description of your military job/responsibilities
- A favorite memory from your service
- Questions from the students
We have 10 speakers scheduled. Ideally, we need 20 veterans. NOTE: While we will make every effort to match you with your child's (grandchild's) class, you may be speaking to a different class. Email Jennifer Costello at jcostello@cbsd.org, if you are interested before November 4th.
To all of our veterans - thank you for your service!

A Message from Our Counselor
Dear Gayman Families,
I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how wonderful it has been to visit classrooms and introduce myself to the students! I have been scheduling classroom visits and introducing myself as the new student support counselor and explaining my role as well as reading one of my favorite books growing up, The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams. I can tell from just these short visits how kind, hardworking, and inviting our Gayman students and teachers are!
I look forward to building relationships with students through individual meetings, in small groups, and through classroom lessons in order to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally here at Gayman. It is my hope that as I get to know each of you and our students, I will become an important part of the team that helps students succeed.
I look forward to working with you this year!
Please do not hesitate to contact me by email bhendrickson@cbsd.org or phone 267-893-4350 ext. 4353.
Sincerely,
Miss Bryanna Hendrickson
We are Thankful!
This year we will once again extend the spirit of giving to the Thanksgiving Holiday. As a school community, we would like to offer support to Gayman families in need by means of food baskets. Each classroom will be collecting items to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for a family in need. We are suggesting that each child bring in a food item from the list below. Contributions will be collected in the classrooms beginning Wednesday, November 2nd through Thursday, November 17th.
If you would like to make a monetary contribution, we will use the funds to purchase grocery store gift cards for families. Please send your donation (cash or check made payable to “Gayman Elementary School”) to the school office in an envelope marked “Thanksgiving Fund.”
We appreciate your voluntary participation in this worthwhile project. We truly believe that in giving we also receive, and helping others immeasurably enriches our children’s lives.

American Education Week
American Education Week is an opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and watch your children in action as they learn something new, participate in a curricular activity, or give a special presentation for visitors. This year, Central Bucks School District invites you to join us the week of November 14-18, 2022.
We invite you to come and join us, remembering that cell phone use while in the school is not permitted, and that this is an “adults only” visit as small children may disrupt instruction during this time.
The chart below provides the designated time to come and visit so that we may concentrate efforts, and accommodate parking, traffic flow, etc. Please RSVP at this link by Friday Nov. 11th, so that we may plan accordingly for your arrival.

Kids Care Club - November
The November KCC event filled up FAST! Thanks to everyone who signed up! If you aren't able to attend or weren't able to register, please consider helping Wrapping Presence by making a holiday card for a resident of a local nursing home. Anything created by kids is sure to brighten their season. Cards can be sent into school and will be collected from the main office on November 7th.
The next in-person KCC meeting will be in January. Stayed tuned for details about that, as well as an at-home project for December. Thank you!
