Specials
Students attend specials with their classroom para-educators and the specialist teachers. Specials allow our classroom teachers to concentrate on providing instruction in language arts and math and becoming experts in these content areas without having to stretch themselves so thin as to have to cover all of the other content required, and necessary, for a well rounded education. Specials also provide our classroom teachers time to meet together to analyze data, collaborate, and plan lessons for students' small group instruction. During specials classroom teachers are also able to view student's progress in Imagine Learning and adjust pathways and lessons if necessary to ensure adequate growth is occurring. Without specials, students would not have the level of personalized instruction they receive at Bridge.
Our specials include:
- Visible Learning - students learn about the six visible learning traits included at the bottom of this newsletter each week - Ms. Mariah
- Social Studies - follows the Utah State Core Standards - Mrs. Johnson
- Science - follows the Utah State Core Standards - Ms. Smith
- Fine Arts - includes music, visual arts and movement - Ms. Madison
- Writing - follows the Utah State Core Standards - Mrs. Langhaim
- Library - follows the Utah State Core Standards and students get to check out books - Ms. Mariah

Fire Drill #2
This time our drill was fantastic and we shaved nearly two minutes off our evacuation and account for everybody time. From the moment the alarm was pulled and every student, staff member and individual who had checked into our school was accounted for, took only 4:30 seconds.
Our new check in system is SUPER helpful with our accountability process as it provides us a picture of the individual and also lets us know where they are supposed to be so we can more easily locate them. The only flaw is if the person fails to check out - then we are hunting for them for a very long time only to discover they aren't at the school. In a real emergency this could be tragic as emergency crews may be risking their lives looking for someone who isn't even at the school. So please, if you check into our school as a volunteer or visitor, please check out when you leave the school.
Power Chess Program
FFVP - Weekly Snacks
Visible Learning - Enthusiasm
I will....
- Be an energy-giver.
- Smile.
- Encourage others.
- Treat every job as important.
- Not be discouraged by failure.
By using these visible learning traits each day students will become lifelong learners who are set up for success. Please use this same verbiage at home and recognize when your student is using this trait.
2023-2024 Calendar
Volunteers
- Cutting Watch Me Learn tickets (stop by the office)
- Pulling weeds in the rock areas and park strips (we have all the area in front of the school and up 4800 S along the school fence).
- Using rakes and shovels to redistribute the gravel from the bottom of the retention area in front of the school to the top area to cover the black landscape screen.
- Parking lot duty before and after school (just check in at the office, put on a yellow vest and talk to Travis in the crosswalk for instructions)
Once your family has volunteered 30 hours they can stop by the front office and ask for a VOLUNTEER FROG. There is no formal tracking program - just track the hours yourself. Then, write your family's name on the frog and tape the frog on our volunteer pond in the front foyer.
If you want to volunteer but do not have the time, you can donate $90 to cover the 30 hours. If you choose to donate, complete the volunteer form. You can donate in the office or by using our DONATE icon on the home page of our website.
Volunteering or donating is OPTIONAL and is not required to be a student or a parent of a student at Bridge Elementary.

Title I
Bridge Elementary receives our Title I funding based on the percentage of students that qualify for free or reduced lunch. For this reason we encourage ALL families to apply for Free/Reduced lunch through Aspire to ensure every single student receives the services needed, including access to free or reduced meals if appropriate.
Title I provides avenues for parent input and participation. We do this through our surveys and the link to the form on our website which allows parents to submit questions and suggestions.
You can find more information about Title I as well as a form to ask questions or provide suggestions regarding Title I, on our website at:
