Dear Covington Middle School Community,

As we embrace the final week of the 1st quarter, it's heartening to see the dedicated efforts of both our talented teachers and diligent students. Their commitment to the spirit of Covington continues to shine brightly.

In October, we are set to welcome new faculty members who will undoubtedly contribute their unique talents to our close-knit community, fostering a sense of togetherness that is the hallmark of Covington.

September saw the introduction of our "Student and Faculty Member of the Month" program, and it has already brought to the forefront some truly exceptional individuals deserving of recognition.

Sixth Grader Spotlight: David Dorsey - David has been nominated for his unwavering helpfulness, friendliness, and politeness in the classroom. He exemplifies the values we hold dear at Covington.

Seventh Grader Spotlight: Violet Lewis - Violet is a model student in ELA, consistently prepared and always giving her best. Her respect and politeness towards others are commendable and inspire us all.

Eighth Grader Spotlight: Ashlynn Lee - Ashlynn's superb grades, active participation in class, and her friendly and respectful demeanor make her a model student, and she sets a high standard for others to follow.

Faculty Member Spotlight: Mrs. Lotersmith - Mrs. Lotersmith's dedication and willingness to go above and beyond in helping others have not gone unnoticed. She is a shining example of the caring and committed educators we have at Covington.

These 5 students auditioned for only a few spots in the Region 18 orchestra. They competed against all the orchestra students in Austin ISD, Hays ISD, Del Valle ISD, and several others. They represent the most talented students in the Region!

Covington Middle School believes that having a school community where your child feels safe and respected is an important foundation to their academic success. That is why Covington will be participating in No Place for Hate®, a national program supporting schools in their commitment to celebrating diversity, promoting respect and confronting bullying at all levels.

Developed by the ADL, a leading anti-hate organization that has worked for over a century to “secure justice and fair treatment to all,” No Place for Hate will help us incorporate new anti-bias and bullying prevention resources into our existing programs in order to have one consistent message of inclusivity.
