Lexia - Core 5 and Power Up
Churchill is using a new resource, Lexia, to support growth and performance in reading. You can learn more about the Core 5 program by watching the informative Zoom below. We have already seen exciting growth - some of our 5th grade students are ready for Power Up! Do you know what level your child is on? Check out the Home Activity resource page as well.
Anti-Bullying Week
Though the message remains constant and strong all year round, we will celebrate the national anti-bullying week with special lessons and a spirit week. Please see the flyer for the themes for each day. We hope to celebrate with all of our students as we strive for a bully-free zone every day at Churchill School. #ChooseKind
All-School Field Trip
All Churchill students will be attending a performance of the James Hart musical on Wednesday, November 16th from 9-11am. Coming home next week is an opt-out form. If you DO NOT want your child to participate, you must complete this form by Monday, November 14th. Students who opt-out or do not arrive in time to load the busses will stay at Churchill and participate in alternate activities. See below for more information about the pet drive and how you can help this cause!
Parent Teacher Conferences
100% participation is the goal for our upcoming parent-teacher conferences! Churchill understands how important family partnership is and values your input. Please attend the upcoming conference prepared to share with us your expertise and experience. Your child is an important part of the conversation as well. Their success is at the heart of our work and we want them to be involved in our next steps and planning efforts. We can not wait to see you in-person or via Zoom on Monday, November 21st between 8am-8pm or via Zoom Tuesday, November 22nd between 8am-12pm.
A separate communication will be sent to all families on Monday, November 7th at 4:30pm with additional details and all of our staff Sign-Up Genius links. Please review the full document for Specials, PE, intervention, and other staff members that your child may be working with this school year and sign-up accordingly.
From the Nurse's Office
Hearing and vision screenings will be taking place starting on Wednesday, November 9th. You may contact the main office and speak with Nurse Griggley if you have any questions.
Halloween Celebrations
Thank you so much to our PTA and all the family volunteers who made our Halloween celebrations a success. We had a lot of fun!
Construction Update
Great progress is being made on our new classrooms and small group work spaces. Walls have gone up and the construction crew is hard at work preparing both the outside and inside for next steps.
