Lady Running NOLES Headed to State
Last Wednesday, October 25th, our Running NOLES were in action competing in the Region 4-AAA Cross Country Championship at Morgan County. Both teams had great results all season.
Our Lady Running NOLES are headed to the State Finals in Carrollton this Saturday, November 4th, at 12:00 PM.

SHS Homecoming 2023
Homecoming 2023 was held on Friday, October 6th, during Fall Break.
Congratulations to our Salem High School 2023 Homecoming King, Jontraves Jones and
Homecoming Queen Ms. Zoie Anderson and to all student representatives on the court!
Thank you to Ms. Liggins and SGA for all of their hard work to make all Homecoming events a memorable one for our students!!
SHS Earns Top Honors for the "Be the People Voter Drive" Contest
SHS was recently recognized by the Georgia Center for Civic Engagement as the winner of the 2023 Be the People Voter Drive contest for registering the most students out of more than 80 schools across the state. The competition took place over 30 days and high schools throughout the state were encouraged to register all students 17.5 years and older.
The students won a trip to the Georgia Governorβs Mansion which will include a tour led by Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp and a luncheon with former Senator Kelly Loeffler and other elected officials.
Congratulations to our Social Studies teachers, Mr. Andrae Sparkman and Mrs. Sherisse Liggins; Counselor, Ms. Megan Mitchell, SGA student members and all other organizations that helped make this voter drive a success!!
Salem Fine Arts Got Talent
ONE Awesome ACT π
On Friday, October 27th, Mr. Roper's drama students participated in the One Act competition. A BIG Congratulations to them for earning Superior and Excellent scores and placing 3rd overall. A special shout-out to seniors, Kavoriana Harris and Joseph Warner, Jr. for earning All-Cast Member Awards. Way to represent NOLES!!

Singing Sensations
It was a busy fall season for Ms. Senior and her chorus students as they held two performances.
On Sept. 28th, the chorus participated in the Rockdale Choral Expo held at Davis Middle School and October 24th they held their Fall Concert, Musical Fever. Both events brought in a packed house and outstanding performances! Great job Ms. Senior and our singing SemiNOLES!!

Students are Always "Science-ing" in Ms. Murdock's Class!
In this highly interactive and collaborative lesson, students were testing for various macromolecules as they tried to solve a murder mystery that happened right here in Conyers, GA (hypothetically speaking, of course)! π
Miss Reid and her Economic Students "Go to Lunch"
On Tuesday, October 17th, Ms. Reid's Economics class were invited to attend the Georgia Council for Economic Education (GCEE) Minority Women in Economics Luncheon. The young ladies enjoyed the invaluable experience of breaking bread and learning from minority women in the workforce.

November is National Apply to College Month
Seniors, it does not matter if you want to go into the workforce, attend technical school, trade school, or attend a 4-year university. There is a session for you and the counseling department will help you with the process and applications. Students who register and apply to at least 5 colleges will receive an incentive. But you MUST sign up and attend the sessions to be eligible for the incentive. See the image below for important dates.
