The Introduction to Law students visited the Trenton Statehouse and Museum on December 6, 2019. They were given a tour of the Statehouse and were able to sit where congress makes our laws. They learned about the process of "How A Bill Becomes a Law" and all about the NJ State Seal. Students were able to apply their knowledge of how a bill becomes a law in committee chambers. The Students played the role as members of the Senate, House of Representatives and were given a proposed law about homeschooled students being allowed to play public school sports and debated it on the committee floor. The law passed only to be immediately vetoed by Mrs. Berberich (the President), but then the "Congressmen" override her veto with a 3/4 vote. Finally, the students explored the NJ Statehouse Museum and were impressed by the portraits, astronomy and fossils they were able to interact with.

Felician College visited AUL this week. They talked about on-campus offerings and programs of study, the application process, scholarships and financial aid.

What is digital learning?

Digital learning is any type of learning that is accompanied by technology or by instructional practice that makes effective use of technology.

Daily tutoring and homework assistance will precede enrichment activities running from 4 PM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday.

Activities include:

Founded in 2010 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School is one of Middlesex County's comprehensive Public Charter Schools that serves students in seventh through twelfth grades. The school operates under the terms of a charter granted by the New Jersey Department of Education.

When the school first opened in 2010, it did not have the books, tables, or classrooms necessary for students to be in an adequate learning environment. Even the principal, at the time, had to serve as a lunch aide. Since then, AUL has developed to help students receive the education they deserve. AUL has expanded by opening two new campuses, expecting to provide the opportunity for students to continue to succeed, with graduation and college admission, as two of its goals.

AUL offers an advanced academic track and AP courses.
