Carver's Weekly Update
Week of Monday, January 30 2023
Carver Parents/Guardians,
- Our Jump Rope for Heart/Kids Heart Challenge will take place this week. Please make sure students wear comfortable shoes and attire on their PE day.
- Don't forget to download the Florence 1 app (follow Carver for important updates) and the PowerSchool app (view grades/attendance/meal balances).
- Our school day begins at 7:40 AM. All students should be in class and prepared to learn by 7:45 AM. Students who arrive late to school miss out on valuable instructional time. Our car line runs smoothly from 7:00-7:30 AM. There are too many parents trying to drop off students between 7:35 -7:45 in the mornings. This causes major chaos and delays. It is your children who are affected by this when they are late to class. I want to encourage parents to drop off students by 7:30 AM to avoid the increase in traffic.
- The disabled parking space is for students/adults who have a need to park close to the school. The disabled parking space is not for dropping off students without this need.

A Snapshot of STEAM Learning at Carver!
REACH students in 3rd grade are working on solving algebraic equations.
REACH students in 5th grade are beginning their unit on Finance. They have all received their jobs and now will work within their budget to rent an apartment, buy a car, and pay household bills.
Mrs. White's kindergarten class harvested their first vegetables from the garden they planted back in October! The class tasted broccoli and kale and smelled fresh rosemary.
