Class updates
Hello parents and guardians,
In May, the 7th graders are working on talking about what they and others do in their classes; this involves learning and using many verbs in conjunction with the school vocabulary that they’ve already learned. Cultural topics in this unit have included comparing and contrasting schools, classes, schedules, grades, and what students do (here and in schools in other countries). Seventh graders will end the year with practice and reinforcement of vocabulary and grammar concepts learned during the year in competitions and with an art project based on the molas made by the indigenous Guna people of Panamá.
For eighth graders, their current unit of study, ¿Quieres ir conmigo? will wind up in early June. In this unit, students have practiced accepting and declining invitations, leisure activities, and what they do in their free time, as well as stating what they are going to do in the future. Cultural topics in this unit have included discussions and comparisons of popular sports and pastimes around the world.
