Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Community,
We have wrapped up the 1st 6-week grading period of the 2nd semester. We only have a little over 3 months left in the school year! Progress Report grades can be viewed online through Synergy StudentVue or ParentVue.
As a reminder: we now offer after school support Mondays - Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:30pm! Students must sign up in the office by noon if they would like to catch a bus ride home. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get help with their classes.
Spring can be a challenging time for consistent attendance. Please remind your student we (and the district) expect students here every day -- consistent attendance is one of the best ways to ensure students remain on-track for graduation and maximize their learning.
Soccer season will begin right after Spring Break. Hopefully we are leaving the snow and cold behind us. If your student is interested in participating, please make sure they have a current physical on file. Contact the office or Mr. Nagel if you have questions.
Each week we have authentic learning experiences in the community. These opportunities include job fairs, career exploration trips to community business and industry partners, fine art events, and visits to post-secondary institutions. Please encourage your student to take part in some of these unique opportunities.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers, the main office, or me by phone or email if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ryan Blaszak

International Film Festival Field Trip
We were excited to complete our annual trip to the Portland International Film Festival in downtown Portland. We headed to the NW Film Center on Monday, March 11th to see the documentary film Miriam Lies.
Springwater has a wonderful partnership with the Global Classroom Film Series. While each film is unique, every film gives an interesting and thought provoking perspective of a global issue from a different perspective. These films are fantastic learning opportunities for students to be exposed to cultures and ideas they may not normally be exposed to during their everyday life. The films offer students a glimpse into parts of the world that may otherwise be unavailable to them.

If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form.
