News From The View
Skyview Upper Elementary School
From Mrs. Berical
This week at Skyview your student had the opportunity to create posters that focused on test taking strategies that they can utilize to help them feel and do their best on any test that they take. Students worked in groups to create these posters and they will be hung around Skyview for our whole community of learners to enjoy throughout the month of April. Ask your child what strategy their group focused on, what it means and how it can best help them on a test. In addition, ask your child about the various test taking strategies they are learning about that they find helpful. I greatly appreciate all of the support you provide to your child to help them develop perseverance and a positive mindset around testing.
Next week will be a short but fun week for our students! On Monday, we will celebrate Autism Awareness Month as a school community by wearing blue! Please encourage your child to wear the color blue to show their support for Autism Awareness. On Tuesday, April 4th, our school community will celebrate the Phillies Opening Day by wearing Philadelphia Phillies gear or the colors red, white and blue. The Phillies opening day is scheduled for April 6th but because our students will not be in school that day, we plan to show our spirit on April 4th.
I can't believe we are getting ready to head into Spring Break after next week. Please know that the next "News from the View" will not be sent until after Spring Break on April 14th.
Have a wonderful weekend and a relaxing Spring Break!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Berical

We recognize that families want to support their child academically and feel connected to their learning. Each week, we will include a 5th and 6th grade math word problem that you can work on with your child. Also included will be the list of questions that you can ask your child that will help guide their thinking as they solve the problem. We encourage you to take advantage of completing these word problems with your child so that you can help support them with their learning at home!
