iReady Diagnostic
It’s hard to believe that we’re already preparing for the second i-Ready® Diagnostic. The second Diagnostic is an important benchmark for understanding your student’s growth, which is why it’s so important they try their best. These results allow us to better support them in achieving their goals for the year. The diagnostic will be administered next week January 23-26.
The most important thing we can do is prepare students and motivate them to put forth their best effort.
Here are a few things you can do to help support your student:
· Make sure they get a good night’s rest before taking the Diagnostic!
· Talk to your student about why the second Diagnostic is important. You can say things like:
- The second Diagnostic helps you find out how much progress you’ve made since the beginning of the year.
- It allows your teacher and I to celebrate your accomplishments!
- Try your best, and do not rush—but don’t spend too much time on a question either.
- Remember, questions on the Diagnostic change based on your answers to earlier questions. You will see some questions you don’t know. That is okay! Just try your best.
· Let them know you’re excited to celebrate their progress.
Once the diagnostic is completed, you will have access the results on The For Families Report on the Student Dashboard in English or Spanish.
Please read about how to interpret the results once the diagnostic is completed.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your student’s learning.
Student ID's Badges
At the beginning of the year, the school provides every child an ID badge for the year. According to the Student Code of Conduct, the ID badge must be worn while on school grounds or on school sponsored transportation. We understand that students may misplace or lose their ID, therefore the school will provide up to 2 more replacements. On the 4th ID provided, the parent/student will need to pay for the cost of the replacement ID which is $5.00. Parents will be notified once their child has been issued the 3rd ID and the $5.00 charge will become an obligation on your child's account to pay. When your child has received their 3rd ID tag you will be notified with the form below. It is not an option to go without an ID while on campus.
Dismissal Change Form
To accurately account for all students going home each day, we need to know when you change the PRIMARY mode of dismissal. You must submit this form to the front office by 11: 00 a.m. the day of the change. Consistency is important for all students, especially for dismissal, and now that we have many after school clubs going on we need to document all changes to dismissal in a more formal manner. Please contact the office rather than the teacher about dismissal changes, all dismissal changes reported by 11 am will be communicated to the teachers and other applicable staff. We recommend that you reserve the dismissal changes only when necessary. No Early Release of students will occur between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. daily. The form will be available on our website and in our front office.
Here are some examples of when you will need to submit a form to the office:
- If you sign up your child for a club or tutoring, you will need to submit a form to the office if the child is not attending the club on the day the club is in session.
- If the student is normally a bus rider, and you want the child to go the car loop for dismissal.
- If the student attends aftercare and is not going to aftercare at dismissal.
- You still need to contact the office, even if you contacted the teacher regarding changes to dismissal.
Here are some examples of when you do not need to submit a change for to the office:
- Your child is home sick from school and you reported the absence to the front office or called the attendance hotline.
- If your child is a bus rider and you registered for a club, your child will be expected to attend the club on the days the club meets.
