The Cub Hub

We packed quite a bit of learning into these 4 days. Please make sure you check out the grade level newsletter embedded in the Cub Hub. Teachers are planning and collaborating to create quality, engaging lessons. I am excited when I visit the neighborhoods and classrooms at how our Cubs are growing academically.

MAP Reading and MAP Math beginning of year (BOY) testing will end on Friday, September 15th. Your child's classroom teacher will share their BOY scores with you during Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you have not yet scheduled a time to meet with your child's teacher, please do so. September 25th is a Teacher Work Day. This day is set aside for conferences.

BCE is in need of lunchroom volunteers! Volunteering in the lunchroom includes helping with lunchroom and table manners as well as helping kiddos with tasks like opening containers. We have recurring, every other week, slots available. This will help ensure coverage and planning ahead for filling vacant spots. You can use the sign-up link below. The slots default to 30 minutes, but we'd also welcome anyone to sign up for 2 slots (for an hour total), if time allows it. This is also a good opportunity to have lunch with your child before or after your slot! Your help is greatly appreciated!

We will hear a Principal update, hear about all the fun things planned for the fall, and visit the various volunteer tables to learn about the many new ways to get involved on campus this year. Bear Creek PTA is hosting a Spirt Night on Thursday, September 21st between 3-7pm at the Art Garage! Families can come shop and make art and 10% of sales will go back to the PTA. Coming out to paint pottery makes a great after school playdate or a great family night out. They also have mosaics and glass fusion projects and a cute little gift shop full of art supplies and creative kits.
