Community Project
Our second graders recently wrapped up a Social Studies unit on communities. Students in Mrs. Hallett's class explored around "town". Parents and community members came in to talk to students about their jobs, and how they help in the community. Students explored areas set up to look like different places they may see in their community (a veterinary clinic, a salon, a grocery store, etc). Stopping at each area, students had to decide if who/what they saw was a producer or a consumer, a good or a service, and a need or a want. Thank you to everyone who made this happen!

A Request from the Department of Public Health
The DPH is asking local health departments to promote their "Community Health Equity Survey." This is especially important in rural towns, as they have the least access to medical/mental health care. We are happy to work with our local DPH and send this link to you for them!

Substitutes Wanted
Woodland School needs substitutes for the 23-24 school year. Being a substitute offers great flexibility, because you can choose the days you want to work! When teachers are absent, they leave the substitute a detailed lesson plan to follow. Interested? Have questions? Give us a call at 413-569-6598.
