A Message from Mrs. Venegas

Hello Raider families!

It's Back-to-School time and here at Eastwood Middle School, ADVENTURE AWAITS! We are so excited to begin another awesome school year with you and your Raider. We know the first day of school is both a time of excitement and nervousness, but I assure you that after we all get situated, the nerves will be a thing of the past.

Our faculty & staff worked hard this past week and is ready to welcome your Raider! Thank you for trusting us with your child. We do not take our responsibility to our students and families lightly--we aim for excellence in all we do, and are so grateful for your partnership. We are also very thankful for those of you who made the time to come to Meet the Teacher & Title 1 Information Night this week. It was so great to have our building, gyms, and hallways filled with Raiders and their families again!

A few reminders about preparing for the first day of school:

Make sure your Raider goes to bed early and is rested for a busy first day.
Your Raider needs to bring an empty backpack and empty pencil pouch. They will be receiving their free school supplies in their Advisory classroom.
Please make sure your Raider is in full uniform (EMS-affiliated shirt or plain blue, white, or gold polo shirt; jeans without holes or distressing 2 in above the knee or navy or khaki pants or shorts; tennis shoes that cover the whole foot; student ID - if they already have them).
Review your Raider's drop-off/pick-up arrangements with them. If they are riding on the bus, our bus route schedule is below.
Parent drop-off zones are the full length of Album and Chaswood streets only. Make sure your Raider crosses the streets only at crosswalks.
Breakfast is served in the cafeteria from 7:30 - 8:25 am only. No breakfast in the classroom.
School begins at 8:30, so have your Raider there at least by 8:15 am.
Student Locator Lists are inside our building and will show Raiders which teacher and classroom to report to for first period.
Raiders will receive a printed schedule in first period.
Student IDs and Chromebooks will be distributed during the first few weeks of school, for those Raiders without them.
Dismissal is at 4:00 pm. Please make sure your Raider is on their way home by 4:30 pm.
