We have been working hard behind the scenes this summer and in partnership with some amazing local stakeholders, we are excited to announce some amazing things:

Meet Our Vendors!
"One Dog" Meet and Mingle Reception at Wingate University -- For Campus & Community Stakeholders
Put September 6th from 3-5pm in your Calendars
Why have a reception? Two reasons:
a) We want to celebrate the great work being done to serve all our neighbors and
b) Network/Brainstorm to help co-create One Day One Dog, building in the process stronger networks for collaboration.
Come find our more about "One Dog" and Meet and Mingle with faculty, staff and community partners -- and offer your insights as to what this day of service could look like!
Cold drinks and nibbles will be served in the Mezzanine of the Ethyl K Library from 3-5pm TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6th. At 4pm President Brown will be tell the story of "One Dog" followed by a Q and A and idea sharing. The Library is on Wingate University Campus and the address is 110 Church St. Wingate, NC.
All volunteer coordinators, project leaders, boots-on-the-ground people are welcome! Bring your calendars and imaginations -- and Please RSVP by TUESDAY August 30th end of day.

Jobs Jobs Jobs! The CCG is Hiring Students
Food and Faith -- a Community Engaged Course
This course is a community engagement, experiential learning approach to teaching and learning. Community engagement links knowledge of community partners, community action, and academic study so that each strengthens the other.
Students will be:
a) Gardening -- tending and growing food that they will cook & share
b) Learning to Cook on a Dime and take part in a "Sauce-y" cooking challenge!
c) Engaging with community partners and learning how they connect food and faith
d) Remembering how their families, friends and faith communities engage with food
e) Co-creating justice oriented food systems
We are so excited to get started August 18th!

ROOTS Summit 3.0 Report
The CCG and the ROOTS Planning subcommittee wants to thank everyone who attended our ROOTS Summit 3.0 this past April 26th, 2022 for your presence and participation. We were also excited to have Dr. Chelsea Kaufman and OT graduate student Sarah Hart gathering all of our collected data and insights into our ROOTS Summit 3.0 report.
