Thank you to Fronteras staff for supporting the numerous Spanish Heritage activities!
Celebracion de la Herencia Hispana! During the month of September and first two weeks of October, all Fronteras students and staff members are participating in researching and celebrating the 21 Spanish speaking countries. Each classroom, Specials room, and office spaces are involved in and excited about learning the fascinating and unique cultural aspects of each country such as, traditional dress, food, currency, politics, and history. On October 13th, you will receive an invitation from your child(ren) to attend their class country presentation. In addition, classroom teachers may be inviting you to participate in specific activities each week.
Thank you for another fantastic week with your children! We hope you are looking forward to a fabulous weekend!
Most Sincerely,
Mrs. Hutchins

Additional Fronteras Safety and Security Information
Below are a couple important explanations should Fronteras experience an emergency/evacuation.
STAY PUT: If there is an unknown exterior threat, a school may go into Stay Put mode. This means all individuals on campus will remain indoors with exterior doors and windows locked. MSBSD Emergency Preparedness Director will be notified and all instructions from the Director will be followed if necessary. A Stay Put is cancelled when an All-Clear is made via the School Administrator, Emergency Director, or AK State Troopers.
LOCKDOWN: If there is an interior and/or exterior threat, a school will go into Lockdown. To initiate a Lockdown, the Duress button is activated by either school administrator or office staff. AK State Troopers and emergency services are immediately notified. MSBSD Emergency Preparedness Director is called and either heads to Fronteras to assist or communicates via telephone or emergency radio.
It is important to note that a STAY PUT may turn into a LOCKDOWN and depending on the circumstances, a LOCKDOWN may turn into a full EVACUATION to our emergency site; Career Tech High School. Should a full evacuation take place, Fronteras’ Emergency Operations Plan will be put in motion.
