CES NEWS

CES students will be traveling to the Brown Grand Theater on Friday, February 9th to attend a free production by the Wichita Children’s Theater. Grades K-2 will start at 9:30 and 3rd/4th grade at 1:30. Thank you to the Dane Hansen Foundation for helping make this possible.

Each grade level will be having their Valentine’s Day party on February 14th. Please watch for more information from your child’s teacher for party details. No homemade snacks and treats are allowed. Also, no outside deliveries for personal valentines for your child will be allowed. Thank you for your support as we make these adjustments to keep everyone healthy and safe, while still enjoying Holiday fun!

All CES students, grades K-4, have been invited to sing the National Anthem on Tuesday, February 16th, before the boys basketball game at 7:30pm. CES students singing the National Anthem will get in free to the game. Parents/guardians will need to pay the $6.00 admission fee per person. Students will meet in the CJSHS Media Center/Library at 7:10. We will then head to the gym to sing before the boys game. After completing the National Anthem, students will return to the library to be dismissed to their parents. Please have students wear a red shirt.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on February 19th from 10:00am-6:00pm at CES. Teachers will soon be sending home more information regarding the scheduled conference times. Sign-Up sheets have been sent out for conferences through Parent Square. We look forward to seeing you there!

There will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, February 20th for a teacher inservice/professional development day

CES would like to invite our Moms or 1 special female guest to join their child for Muffins. Our guests will begin in the gym with the students and then join them in the classroom for a Muffin and more! Muffins for Moms will run from 7:55-8:45. Each grade will have a specific day when this will take place, which is listed below. Be on the lookout for more information coming home from your child’s teacher!

Concordia After School Program (CAP) will be open over Spring Break, if at least 20 students enroll. Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet for Spring Break CAP. For more information about Spring Break call 785-275-3236 or email CAP - cap@usd333.com

• CES doors open at 7:30 am. Supervision of students is not provided before this time. Thank you for arriving at school at the designated time.

• Please remember to drop off and pick up students from 11th Street. This will help with traffic safety and keep our front bus loading area running smoothly.

• To help keep CES safe, please check in with the office before entering school/classrooms. If picking up from or returning a student to school, please sign him/her out in the office.

• Please contact the CES office for any demographic updates, i.e. new phone numbers, address, emergency contacts.

• If your child’s end of the day plans change, please let the office know by 2:30pm so we can notify your child and their teacher.
