Making memories!!
Flashlight Scavenger Hunt
Take advantage of the early winter sunset with flashlight indoor scavenger hunt when the sun goes down. Turn off your lights to make it extra dark. See who can find the most things that begin with the letter “a” (or another letter), or go on a shape hunt to see who can find the most circles, squares, etc. The answers will be illuminating.

2020 QCE Holiday Performances
Seven of our fifth graders prepared a performance that was supposed to take place at Swansboro High on Dec. 5. The performance was canceled, but Dr. Bazzy recorded the students during their last practice at QCE. Here is the link to their four songs. It's not a big ol' performance with costumes and choreography and all that, just a little something to get you in the holiday spirit. Enjoy!

Message from Mrs. Ross - Media Center
Student chargers can easily get mixed up between siblings and friends. At the beginning of the school year all chargers were checked out labeled with the student's name.
Please review with your child/children the importance of this tape.
- It identifies their charger as belonging to them.
- If they do not turn in their charger at the end of the school year, it is a $17.00 replacement cost.
- The tape should be covering the QR code. The QR code can get worn off over time and if it can't be scanned, I can't be sure that it is their charger.

PLASTIC:
- Five plastic bottles (PET) recycled provides enough fiber to create one square feet of carpet or enough fiber fill to fill one ski jacket.
- Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour.
- Recycling one ton of plastic bottles saves the equivalent energy usage of a two person household for one year.

Afternoon School Dismissal
Car Rider Parents, Please continue to display the yellow window card until your child enters your car. The best place to display the yellow card is over the passenger side visor. This will assist the staff to quickly load the students into the cars safely.
All afternoon transportation changes will happen within the School Dismissal Manager system. This eliminates the need for notes that don't always reach the teachers or emails to the front office that might not be seen until after dismissal. All changes need to happen before 2:00pm. At 2:15pm each teacher is sent an email with a list of all his/her students and how each one is getting home.
If you still have not claimed your account, please email either the jill.yager@onslow.k12.nc.us or michelle.staley@onslow.k12.nc.us and they will assist you.
